Dear Sisters in Christ,
This is our last newsletter until September. (Remember we meet from
September to May). After a short meeting we will play Bunco beginning
at 7 pm. This is a potluck so please bring finger foods. There will be
short informational meeting about the convention.
Please consider running for office this upcoming year. We have the sum-
mer to think and pray about serving others. Please consider doing this.
We all need to take our turn and there is lots of help.
Life has a way of catching up with us and the month of April was a very
busy for us. Anna Clark of the Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center in
Seattle, addressed our group at the April meeting. It was well attended
and revealing to all of us; learning about human trafficking.
We also had the privilege of helping our fellow sister Shirley Kapala with
the funeral of her husband Mike who passed away in April. It was a happy
occasion to help out and a sad occasion saying good bye to our good
friend and helper.
Diane Cloquet, Bonnie Manning, Marcia Marshall and I attended the
CDA State Convention in Vancouver last week. Our Court received many
accolades and we learned a lot. We will share this information with you.
May is the month of Mary. Look to her for your guidance

Pray for Shirley Kapala whose husband Mike died in April. Keep Sarah and Bill Jones in your prayers. Pray for our friend and fellow CDA member Terry Roy and her family. Pray for Elaine Crouse. Pray for Mary Ann Van Camp, and her husband George as they journey through life. Think of our sister Betty Flieg and her husband Stan who is at Manor Care.
Please pray for all of those who need our prayers, those in a state of depression, those in chronic pain, those suffering from disease. Pray for those in the military, those whose families are far from them. Think of our housebound members and call them.
Pray for those alone in life. Reading this article is also a prayer… Please pray the rosary.

May 1, 2015 One Million Rosary Campaign to end abortion
The Saint Michael the Archangel Organization of Memphis Tennessee stated that on this day over 38,000
people have agreed to pray the rosary on behalf of the unborn.
This organization is organizing a spiritual battle for the end of the surgical and non-surgical killing of the
unborn.
It is anticipated that universally people from many countries will simultaneously pray the rosary for the un-
born on May 1.
This effort is one in which we have participated the past five years. Despite the ongoing pain and suffering,
we need to rejoice! Because of Easter we have to remember the risen Christ!!
Many members of our court have actively supported this effort and it follows, that we continue to do so, since
our efforts are to support those whose lives are most vulnerable.
St Michael leads armies of angels against Satan, leader of the army of God and protector. A serious saint, an
angel of those who want to end evil. This is the saint to whom we ask for intervention of evil.
This effort is supported by the American Catholic Bishops.
"I encourage the faithful to seek the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe...by praying the Rosary for the pro-tection of unborn praying the Rosary for the protection of unborn human life through the campaign human life through the campaign of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization." Archbishop (now Cardinal) Raymond Burke in 2008
Holy Father’s Intentions
May 2015
Universal: That rejecting the
culture of indifference, we may
care for our neighbors who suffer, especially
the sick and the poor.
Evangelization: That Mary’s intercessions
may help Christians in secularized cultures be
ready to proclaim Jesus.
Know How to Listen
and Act on What You
Learn!
Try these tactics in your
everyday life. If and when you ask your
neighbors and co-workers how
they are... really listen! Act accordingly.
Take the time to be and listen to a hurting friend.
Take time to notice others’ hard work and thank
them for what they do.
Take time to pray for others.
Be supportive of others in their time of need.
Have no fear, smile at everyone.
CDA COOK-
BOOKS These cookbooks are from mem-
bers of CDA state wide and are
for sale at the bake sales and from the
members of Catholic Daughters. There are
fabulous recipes, good ideas and are fun to read.

Our April meeting with Anna Clark of the
Intercommunity Peace Justice Center in Seat-
tle, was informational for all of us. Human
dignity, the ability to choose an occupation and
be paid for it are part of an anti-slavery cam-
paign.
Economic, political and social reasons in-
clude “slave labor” work that enslaves
men, women and children in agriculture,
industries and the sex trade.
The international migration of people
searching for a better life can turn into a
nightmare with the scourge of trafficking
and forcing people to work in less than
ideal conditions for little or no money and
substandard living conditions.
We tend to think that cheap clothing, cheap
food have no adverse consequences. We
need to be aware of where and how our
food and goods are made.
Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and
Pope Francis all have looked at human
rights and the globalization of industry.
