TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN

Subject: Sponsorship for Team Raftaar, Delhi Technological University for participation in ASME HPVC 2016 Season.

Respected Sir/ Madam

We at Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering) are pleased to informyou that Team Raftaar, a team of undergraduate students of our university has taken up the challenge to design and develop a Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) for the ASME HPVC Season-2016.

The vehicle conceived, designed and fabricated by Team Raftaar participated in the ASME HPVC INDIA 2015, where it established the milestone of being the 1st Indian team to achieve a speed of 67 kmph by human pedalling force. The team secured the Overall FIRST Position in a competition that saw registration of more than 50 teams all over India. It also bagged 1st position in Design event and 3rd in Endurance Event. This is one of the most successful performances by any college team all over India including teams from IITs, NITs, BITS, NSIT.

The aim of the competition is to design and build a prototype of a rugged single seat Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) whose design can be used by a firm to manufacture the vehicle commercially. This Human Powered Vehicle can be the key to the future in terms of eco friendly ways of travelling since it is faster, more sturdy and reliable mode of transportation as compared to a normal bicycle. The vehicle design can be well incorporated in the real world and may find the following uses:

o As a light ground vehicle by the common people.o As an eco friendly vehicle.

o As a multi-purpose vehicle.

Why Should You Sponsor Us?

Team Raftaar DTU has been the pioneer in ASME HPVC in India- debuting in 2013.

Since then, the team has consistently attended the HPVC events with

impressive results.

(Details in Brochure) The team has shown its domination and desire to improve in the Indian HPVC

Competition by securing 1st position out of 55 teams in ASME HPVC India 2015.

Team Raftaar in the recent past has had a dream to run in both the Indian and Overseas Events showing great improvement with each appearance. The year 2014-2015 saw major changes in team’s methodology, design and attitude towards ASME HPVC. Extensive research and multitude of testing levels is now the team’s sole motto. An upgraded chassis, a better and improved drivetrain and steering system and a fully suspended vehicle made it possible for us to build India’s first fully faired Semi-Recumbent HPV.

The team promotes its sponsors by: Enjoying extensive media coverage. (Both print and

electronic) Showcasing the vehicle in various college events. (Fests, HR

meets) Attending events on Sponsor’s request.

The HPVC project has been the flagship research project of Delhi Technological University (formerly DCE) for quite a few number of years.

The team uses state-of-the-art equipment, software and facilities to design, fabricate and test the vehicle.

List of events proposed to be attended by the team:

Sponsoring the team would enhance your corporate as well as your social image. The project originates out of the fundamental technology taught in the curriculum and other specialized know-how within the college. To carry forth the success of the past year, the team has embarked on the goal of being the first Indian HPV to achieve a speed of 100kmph.

We are excited to take this opportunity to invite you, as a part of our local business community, to become a shareholder in this project. A detailed report of how the money is used will be provided on demand.
