Most Recent Position – Operations Manager (The Neighbourhood Management)

London/Roaming (Period Feb 2016 – May 2016)

Having been head hunted by the owners of the business and prized away from my former role with

an offer and project far too good to refuse. My task was to guide a property development team of

architects, designers, operators and branding experts into creating a new brand and business within

the high end serviced student accommodation market. To utilize my knowledge, skills, ambition, eye

for detail and expertise within luxury student accommodation. Although much was achieved

unfortunately following a 3 month probationary period due many basic structural issues, state of

readiness, lack of team experience and scale of task for my own benefit it was mutually decided to

move on to ventures new.

Previous Position - Vita Student (Select Property Group), Exeter. (July 2014 – Feb 2016) Assistant

Residence Manager

Being the central supportive liaison point for Vita Student’s innovative, stylish and exciting

development in central Exeter. Supporting tenants, team and contractors whilst building lasting

relationships with local supporting businesses. Offering students a truly experiential and luxury living

experience.

Each & every day is different in the life of Property Management tasks ranging from securing and

sourcing a Window Fitter to communicating to a potential tenant in Bahrain on a Skype viewing.

With tenants and offices across the world there is never a dull or quiet moment.

Benefiting from previous experiences in Hospitality, Events, Sales & Marketing and Social Media

Management has led to the perfect blend of skills and personal expertise being regularly called

upon.

Current Situation – Looking to source an engaging role that most suits my ambitions and plans

within the industry. Happy to explore roles working from home, London offices and roaming within

reason. Looking for security, salary expectations and stability. My next role is absolutely something I

want to be doing for the next 2-3 years and beyond.

both brands and business is something I thrive upon.

About Me – Call me Matty. I’m the right side of 30. I feel very strongly that I have reached a point in

my life where I’m adequately equipped to take my life’s big calling of forging an engaging career

within the Business sector with a special eye for the Events, Marketing, Residence Management and

Promotional industries. For the last 4 years I have been gathering all of the essential experience

needed to be successful in such as challenging field.

Born and raised in the heavily tourism induced Torquay, socialising, entertaining, meeting new

people has been something I’ve grown up accustomed to. A ‘People Person’. I’ve undertaken a

professional journey through Fitness & Leisure into Education then into the world of Entertainments.

Following studies working for the MotivAction Group as an Events & Marketing Project Assistant, in

Ware, Hertfordshire/London alongside Freelance endeavours and working within property; Working

for an exciting start-up firm Fizzy Living who specialize in offering ‘Canary Wharfers’ better and

hassle free renting options, huge budgets have been spent on branding and a service concept of a

fresh way of living.

This brand concept lead my previous employment search within the South West to Vita Student

(Select Property) another hugely exciting project and one that I was be incredibly sad to walk away

from. Having walked onto a building site 2 years ago in a hard hat and boots, hired a team, designed

the uniforms, market researched/mystery shopped, positioned the business, filled the building (156

flats) with international students, exceeded the highest of expectations and continuing to ensure the

delivery of an experiential living all-inclusive package. A project very personal to me, with plenty of

ownership poured in and one I’m extremely proud of.

During my time with Vita Student, I found myself head hunted and courted for many months by the

property development team and owners of The Neighbourhood Management Ltd, a new venture

which I’m absolutely gutted that it didn’t work out for all those involved.

The fast paced and target driven nature of such roles appeal to me immensely. Offering the perfect

chance to test and diversify my easily transferable skills set with a fresh and frantic challenge.
