Kilmer Executive Vice President, Alcoa Chief Technology Officer Alcoa Technical Center, Pennsylvania Dear Dr. Kilmer: I am writing to apply for the quality engineering summer intern position that was posted in the eCareer engineering job search system at Penn State University by Alcoa Inc. a few weeks ago. My experiences in engineering classes, laboratories and my prior engineering work with the U.S. Navy mesh well with the preferred qualifications for this position. Would you please consider me for this employment opportunity? The job posting indicates a need for candidates with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and statistical analysis. The mechanical engineering curriculum at Penn State includes extensive coursework in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and an entire course related to statistical analysis of various instruments and their respective measurements. I have completed all courses related to these subjects and I feel I am capable of professional work with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis. My experience with laboratory testing of systems such as rotary tachometers, Prony brake dynamometers and ultrasonic transducers has given me the technical and team-leading experience needed to be an effective member of the Alcoa Inc. engineering team. While working as an intern for the U.S. Navy for the last two summers, I was able to apply my technical education to the fields of both mechanical and nuclear engineering. I was trained on the operation and maintenance of advanced naval technology such as radar, flight simulation, explosive ordnance and nuclear reactors. I assisted the Engineering Officer of the Deck on a U.S. submarine in conducting routine maintenance and conducting water tests. The enclosed résumé provides an overview of my education and experience in more detail. Please feel free to contact me at (570)-856-0910 or [email protected] to further discuss my qualifications. I would love to have

Dear Dr. Kilmer:

I am writing to apply for the quality engineering summer intern position that was posted in the eCareer engineering job search system at Penn State University by Alcoa Inc. a few weeks ago.

The enclosed rsum provides an overview of my education and experience in more detail. Please feel free to contact me at (570)-856-0910 or [email protected] to further discuss my qualifications. I would love to have the opportunity to further discuss the quality engineering internship position at Alcoa Inc. (Dover, NJ) for summer 2015. Thank you for your time and consideration.
