(aka “Comitium Meeting”)

Presidents, please remind your officers:

For each praesidia attached to the Comitium, EACH Praesidium Officer has an individual commitment to attend ALL of the Comitium monthly meetings.

(See the Handbook, Ch. 34.) (Attached Praesidia: To request an excused absence, contact Br. Mark Brusich with the reason.)

EACH Curia Officer has an individual commitment to attend at least four of the Comitium monthly meetings in a year.

According to the Handbook, it is your duty as president to pass the agenda on to the other officers of the praesdia or curia you represent at the Comitium. It is also advisable to pass the whole package along to those officers and to all active legionaries who are members of your council.

1) At the least, read this to get an idea of what the next meeting will be all about.2) Please e-mail me back with suggested additional topics, and/or with any question(s) you have for

Comitium. (You can always raise issues/questions at the meeting itself, but sending them to me in advance may help you get a clear resolution sooner.)

3) You may also want to solicit issues/questions from other officers/members of your council, and e-mail those back to me.

You may recall that at the October 2004 Comitium meeting we all saw the fine restoration work done by Sr. Virginia Bennett of Our Lady of Good Counsel Praesidium in Sequim.  She is continuing to offer this service to the Legion.  Our Lady of the Olympics Curia plans to attend the Comitium meeting in February 2005, and has kindly offered to transport statues to Sr. Virginia for repair.  Since the Curia representatives may have some limit on their ability to transport statues, if you wish to bring a statue for repair please e-mail Sr. Bea Muir at [email protected] by Thursday, February 10 to let her know.  In general, transportation priority will be given in order of her receipt of your e-mail.  She will respond by e-mail to let you know whether or not to bring your statue.
