Core net income excludes foreign exchange, mark-to-market gains and losses, and non-recurring items. Non-recurring items includes depreciation of assets affected by the network modernization and IT transformation programs.
4Q 2011 reported net income included ₱350Mn (before tax) in depreciation charges for certain assets affected by a pilot run of the network change-out in Davao City. As this was a proof of concept or pilot run conducted prior to awarding the nationwide contract, these amounts were considered regular depreciation charges arising from changes in remaining useful lives of assets.
