What do we need to agree on to make this a success?
• How to promote the access to users and how we can support them? - Marketing will be sharing digital assets to help them raise awareness to students and faculty
• The remote access options that institutions will rely on to provide remote access to their users (next slide)
5
How can we support users with remote access?
• Federated authentication such as Shibboleth/OpenAthens. Customers who are members of any of the federations supported by Elsevier can activate this. This one-time set up allows users to get access to ClinicalKey Student by signing in with their institutional username and password.
• Registration IDs. For academic institutions that do not have secure remote access method in place. The distribution of RegIDs remains a customer responsibility. Need to know the number of users.
6
How can we support users with remote access?
Not preferable during this campaign:IP authentication via VPN/proxy access.
Requires configuration from the customer
will NOT allow access to the Bookshelf App since in order to sign-into the Bookshelf App the first time, users have to be in an IP authenticated Network.
