Total Recoveries Confirmed cases Sindh has reported 1,439 new coronavirus cases, taking the provincial total to 31,086. Moreover, the province reported 23 more deaths. So far, 358 patients are in critical condition while 64 are on ventilators. The Sindh government revealed that the number of female patients of the novel coronavirus has increased after relaxations in lockdown were introduced ahead of Eid ul Fitr. Earlier, 33 patients out of every 100 were women. Now, the percentage of women being infected has gone up to 28.5% in the past 10 days. Additionally, inter city transport remains suspended in the province A pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh, Beximco has sent Bemsivir — the world's first approved generic Remdesivir for critically ill coronavirus patients in Pakistan. 48 vials/injections of the medicine have been on "humanitarian grounds". The Balochistan government has extended the "smart lockdown" in the province till June 16. Now, all shops, markets etc. will remain open six days of the week from 9am to 7pm while there will be a complete lockdown on Fridays. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 412 more cases of the novel coronavirus, while 8 more deaths were reported in the province, raising the death toll to 482. The deaths occurred 3 in Peshawar, 1 each in Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Abbottabad, Dir Lower. Punjab has reported 1,610 new cases of the novel coronavirus, while recording 43 more deaths reported in the last 24 hours taking the total provincial death tally to 540. In Punjab’s city Sialkot, 13 doctors and one nurse of the Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital tested positive for coronavirus. International Rescue Committee (IRC), under the ConCACE project, conducted a total of 189 awarenessraising sessions by Community Mobilizers and volunteers following the SOPs.  The numbers of the IRChotline and SMS feedback channels have also been shared with the attendees as a convenient source forfact-checking and assistance.

Risk communication 

Oxfam in Pakistan disseminated ration bags through women leader groups amongst 5527 poor familiesin Sindh on a self-help basis. Additionally, it distributed ration bags amongst 120 families in KhyberPakhtunkhwa and 710 in Punjab through Women Led Groups.

Food Security & Livelihood

Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD)  provided 7,800 PPE kits among different districtsthrough Deputy Commissioners, PDMAs and hospitals, including provision of PPE kits to front line healthworkers of Thar civil hospital. Helvatas International trained group leaders of rice transplanting communities in Sheikhupura. They werealso trained on safe farm operation to prepare them for the upcoming rice transplanting season.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has published a case report form for suspected cases of multisystem inflammatorysyndrome (MIS) in children and adolescents temporally related to COVID-19. Since the start of the pandemic, there has been an urgent need to accelerate the research and development of COVID-19candidate vaccines. WHO has been supporting this effort. Currently over 120 candidate vaccines have been mapped andsites in 40 countries have expressed an interest to join the Vaccine Solidarity Trial. The document is attached in the email.
