COVID-19 Vaccine What does it mean for Staff

If a staff member refuses the COVID-19 Vaccine• In all instances the first step that a care home manager should take is

to discuss with the employee the reasons for refusing the COVID-19 Vaccine, try to understand their reasons and attempt to alleviate their concerns or fears.

• If a staff member is not vaccinated, they will remain at risk of developing COVID-19. They will also remain a risk of being an asymptomatic carrier.

• As with all vaccines the COVID-19 vaccination requires consent, and it is not mandatory. All individuals should have the opportunity to make an informed choice.

After receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine

It is important to follow the guidance in your local area to protect those around you even after you have had the Vaccine.To protect yourself, residents, family, friends and colleagues you still need to: • Practise social distancing • Wear a face mask • Wash your hands carefully and frequently• Follow all IPC measures in place in the Care Home• Ensure compliance with regular testing• Follow Procedures with self-isolation regulations where required

COVID-19 Vaccination booking We have a booking process for any Care Home staff who would like to arrange their

vaccination appointment.

• their name

• their email address

• their mobile telephone number

• the care home they work at including the borough and postcode of the care home

• the site they would prefer to attend (Sites are listed on the next page)

Step 1Click on “Register here”There is an option to change the language in the top right hand corner.If you need help whilst booking, click “contact support” at the bottom of the page.

Read the Data Processing Consent and, if in agreement, click the green button: “I agree (proceed)”

Step 3Enter your email address and then re-enter to confirm. Select a password. Enter and then re-enter to confirm.

Step 4Enter your personal details. Fields with a * need to be entered, others are not compulsory.

Step 5• An activation code will be emailed to you. You can select for the code to

be sent to your mobile by text by clicking on “send code via SMS”.

• Once you have entered the code press “Go”.

Step 6 Click on the green button: “Open Covid-19 Vaccine form” to complete the form.

Step 7Complete the form.

At the question “Please record details of any other vaccinations in the last 4 weeks or future booked” ensure that your write “none” if you have had none or do not have any booked.

Check the details, then click on the box “agree to the terms of this appointment”. Then click on the green “confirm button”

Across the South West London Health and Care Partnership we are asking health and care staff to give us their views about the Covid-19 vaccination.

We are keen to understand your thoughts about the Covid-19 vaccination and we are gathering views to help support health and care staff to feel confident when speaking to the public about the vaccine.

Everyone who completes a survey will have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher.
