3 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Mauser Packaging Solutions (Mauser) has implemented controls to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our production and distribution facilities. These controls include guidance and updates to our workforce, implementing tactics to identify and respond to COVID-19 cases, as well as adjusting procedures utilized in pre-COVID-19 workplace. The purpose of this plan is to present those workplace controls, as well as the evaluation criteria / schedule for continuous assessment and improvement of the controls that have been implemented in the field. The information presented in this plan aligns with current health authority guidance as of the date of publication. However, information on COVID-19 is changing and developing rapidly. As such, employees are advised to monitor national, state, and/or local public health agency recommendations, and Mauser will continue to review and update this Workplace Control Plan as new information or guidance becomes available, or as new requirements are mandated. We all recognize that this is a pandemic, and that the risk of exposure will continue to exist. We ask that you help protect yourself and your colleagues from exposure by following public guidance. As such, employees are advised to follow health authority guidance (such as how to protect yourself and what to do if you are sick) prior to applying any of the information presented in this document. Common government-approved internet resources for information include:

2.0 SCOPE

This Workplace Control Plan applies to the Mauser production and distribution facilities. It is the responsibility of the Mauser COVID-19 Global Task Force (CTF) and facility management to implement this plan, working together with Human Resources, Health & Safety, and Operations Management throughout the organization. This Workplace Control Plan applies to all Mauser production and distribution employees.

4 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

3.0 REMOTE WORKING PRACTICES

Prior to implementing workplace controls, leadership at each field location should determine which members of their workforce, if any, can work remote. Several factors should be considered when determining an employee’s ability to work remote, including if:

• controls are in place in the workplace that will reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission to an acceptable risk level,

• the employee is a member of the higher risk for severe illness population and has requested accommodation,

• working remote will result in significant loss in the employee’s productivity, and • stay at home or similar orders are in place in the community and the content of those orders.

If leadership determines the employee can / should work remote after the above consideration, then the employee should not return to the workplace at this time. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic has proven to be very fluid in nature, leadership will continue to evaluate the needs for continued remote working practices as new information becomes available.

4.0 WORKPLACE CONTROLS

Based on an assessment of the workplace, Mauser will implement workplace controls in an effort to reduce the risk of person to person transmission as well as environment to person transmission of COVID-19. In developing these workplace controls, the hierarchy of controls for controlling occupational hazards (Figure 1) has been considered. Figure 1: Hierarchy of Controls for Controlling Occupational Hazards

5 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

Therefore, controls that attempt to eliminate COVID-19 from the workplace have been considered prior to implementing other controls, such as social distancing and work practice changes, and a combination of multiple control mechanisms will be utilized to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the workplace. It should also be noted that at to both increase their effectiveness and their ease of adoption, the controls implemented at each field location may vary. The purpose of this plan is not to present site-specific controls, but to present the workplace controls that each facility will consider. Facility managers (or their designee) will be responsible for implementing the workplace controls that will be both effective and adoptable at their respective facilities.

4.1 Employee Screening

4.1.1 Daily Wellness Reporting

Prior to each shift, Mauser will require employees to self-certify that they are “fit for duty” at the facility time clock and prior to entrance. Additionally, wellness certifications will be conducted during the weekly “Tool Box Talk” at each production and distribution facility. For both the daily and weekly certification, the individual will be required to affirm:

• They do not have any symptoms commonly associate with COVID-19, such as fever1, cough, or shortness of breath.

• In the past 14 days, they have not been diagnosed with COVID-19. • In the past 14 days, they have not been in close contact2 with anyone who has been suspected

or confirmed COVID-19 Positive. • In the past 14 days, they have not traveled Internationally to a country with a Level III health

notice. If an employee is not able to certify that they are “fit for duty”, the employee is required to notify their direct supervisor that they are unable to do so. If they are currently within the facility, they should immediate vacate the premises and self-quarantine / self-isolate. Employees do not need to tell their supervisors why they are unable to certify that they are fit for duty under this procedure. Weekly wellness certifications will be recorded and warehoused for a period of time to be determined by Human Resources. Completed certification forms will not be provided to supervisors and will not be maintained in employees’ personnel files.

1 Fever is either measured temperature ≥100.0°F 2 Based on our current knowledge, a close contact is someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 48 hours before illness onset until the time the patient is isolated.

6 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

4.1.2 Temperature Screening

As an added screening measure, Mauser is implementing temperature screening processes at all production and distribution facilities. Although the process may vary slightly at each facility, in general, this will include measuring each employees temperature prior to starting their shift using an infrared non-contact thermometer (IRT). If the employee temperature is measured above 100.0°F, they will not be allowed to enter the facility. For more information, please reference the Large Scale Temperature Screening Protocol on MauserNOW.

4.2 Physical Barriers

If feasible and practical, physical barriers may be erected in the workplace to further social distancing. These may include plexiglass panels or plastic sheeting. If utilized, barriers must not interfere with machinery, must be secured and fastened, and must not inhibit emergency egress. In office settings, plexiglass may be installed between cubicles in an effort to provide additional reduced air space between employees.

4.3 Social Distancing and Work Practices

It will be the responsibility of each facility manager (or their designee), working with the CTF, to implement changes to work practices to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infections. These will include social distancing requirements, restrictions on workplace gathering areas, and enhanced cleaning and disinfectant application practices. As operations will be unique to each facility, this plan is not intended to capture the site-specific social distancing and work practice changes that will be implemented at each facility but present the general changes that will occur at each facility. Facility managers (or their designee) will be responsible for implementing specific changes that will be both effective and adoptable at their respective facilities. At each facility, as individuals begin to adopt these changes, the work culture should begin to change as well, thus reducing the risk of COVID-19 workplace transmission. For ease of review, these changes are categorized below:

4.3.1 Social Distancing

• Individuals will maintain 6 feet of distance from others whenever feasible. o Where feasible, tape, markings, cones, and other visuals will be placed in the facility

where tasks are performed or where workers tend to congregate to reinforce / encourage social distancing.

Page 8: COVID-19 WORKPLACE CONTROL PLAN · 7/16/2020  · This Workplace Control Plan applies to the Mauser production and distribution facilities. It is the responsibility of the Mauser

7 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

o Workplace practices will be modified to the extent possible to accommodate social distancing. When tasks do not allow for 6 feet of distance, these tasks will be kept as short as possible, and face coverings will be utilized.

o Individuals are encouraged to limit time in areas with limited square footage, such as small conference rooms, locker rooms, or break rooms; where social distancing cannot be maintained.

o Individuals should avoid car-pooling with other employees unless company organized / approved. Any company approved programs will utilize social distancing, face coverings, and other control tactics, as applicable. The use of public transportation (such as buses, trains, and subways) and ride share services (such as Uber or Lyft) is also discouraged. In situations where there is no alternative, individuals should utilize a combination of other controls methods such as face coverings, keeping adjacent seats or areas vacant (i.e. keeping as much distance as possible from others), and keeping windows open to increase air circulation (if applicable).

• Entry / Exit procedures will be modified where applicable to limit the probability of any queues or congestion occurring.

o If sign ins / clock ins are required, modifications will be made to these processes where applicable to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (such as disinfecting surfaces and objects, having individuals sign in at different times or locations, increasing the distance between employees waiting to clock in, etc.)

• Face to face conversations should be minimalized. • Occupancy within workspaces such as offices and cubicles will be adjusted to accommodate

social distancing. In general, if social distancing cannot be maintained or is difficult to maintain, then the area will be limited to single occupancy or closed off to the workforce.

• Employees are not allowed to use another person’s cubicle during their absence on a temporary or job-sharing basis unless they a) have an agreement with that person and b) both persons take appropriate measures to disinfect the workspace before working on it.

• Seating at tables will be adjusted to accommodate social distancing. Smaller tables may be subject to single seating, where larger tables may require the seats next to or directly across from individuals be left vacant.

4.3.2 Work Environment

• Individuals will be encouraged to disinfect their workspaces often. While supply chains allow, disinfectant wipes and/or paper towels and disinfectant spray will be available in our facilities.

8 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

o All equipment should be cleaned and disinfected after each use and employees should not share tools or other items in their workspace unless necessary.

• Individuals should perform hand hygiene upon arrival to the workplace and frequently throughout the day. Hand sanitization stations will be located throughout the office. While supply chains allow, personal hand sanitizer bottles will also be available to individuals.

• Workplace practices will be modified to the extent possible to limit equipment sharing between employees. This may include assigning individuals to certain tasks that previously would have been shared between multiple employees.

o When tasks do not allow for individual assignment, cleaning and disinfecting should be completed before and after the use of the equipment. This may include trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, common tools, control panels, office equipment, etc.

• Cleaning and disinfectant application will occur throughout the facility on a regular basis. This will include common high contact surfaces (e.g. door handles, light switches, etc.), the frequency of which will be determined by the facility manager.

4.3.3 Communication, Training, and Signage

• The response to COVID-19 is ongoing and information is constantly evolving. Employees are encouraged to access response materials on MauserNOW via the link below. Both internal and external resources are available on MauserNOW.

o https://www.mausernow.com o https://www.mausernow.com/coronavirus/ o https://www.mausernow.com/coronavirus/covid-19-de-escalation/

• In addition to MauserNOW, Mauser has issued guidance on COVID-19 to employees via email

and communication board postings to keep employees informed on the latest Company updates and workplace best practices.

o Where applicable, training will be issued to supplement guidance issued to employees. Training may cover topics such as COVID-19 awareness and prevention, PPE utilization, changes to workplace procedures, and other relative related topics.

• Signage has been placed throughout Mauser facilities to stress the importance of key messages related to new workplace practices, such as social distancing and hand hygiene. Examples of signage utilized is presented in Figure 2 below.

4.3.4 General Guidance for Health and Hygiene for Employees

For all employees, regardless of specific exposure risks, it is always a good practice to: • Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well • Avoid contact with people who are sick or not feeling well • Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When soap and

running water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand rub with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands that are visibly soiled.

• Perform hand hygiene after contact with any common workplace touchpoints, such as door handles, common area cabinet and drawer pulls, printers and copiers, and break room items.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. • Practice good respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes. • Recognize personal risk factors.

4.3.5 Face Coverings

At Mauser production and distribution facilities, the use of face coverings is required at all times where social distancing is not possible, in accordance with Mauser Packaging Solutions Face Covering Policy.

Page 11: COVID-19 WORKPLACE CONTROL PLAN · 7/16/2020  · This Workplace Control Plan applies to the Mauser production and distribution facilities. It is the responsibility of the Mauser

10 COVID-19 Production and Distribution Facilities Workplace Control Plan July 16, 2020

In accordance with current CDC guidance, the use of face coverings is suggested at all times in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, including the during the employee’s commute to and from the facility. However, employees should stay up to date on all local health / municipality orders, as this plan does not supersede those orders.

5.0 SUSPECTED / CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE IN THE WORKPLACE

Should an employee who is in the workplace or who has recently been in the workplace develop symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19, they should notify their supervisor, self-isolate immediately, and seek medical advice / care. Should the employee have been in the workplace 48 hours or less prior to symptom onset, Mauser will initiate their COVID-19 Rapid Response Plan. Although not an exhaustive list, this will include:

• Isolating the areas of sustained occupancy from the work force, • Implementing cleaning and disinfectant application protocols in the areas of sustained

occupancy, • close contact investigation, and • workforce communication.

Please see the N. American Decision Tree on MauserNOW for more details.

6.0 SELF-QUARATINE / ISOLATION GUIDELINES

If an individual is identified as recently having had close contact with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19-postive person, they may be permitted to continue to work provided they remain asymptomatic and additional precautions are implemented to protect them and the rest of the workforce. Per CDC guidance, these precautions include:

• Pre-screening (temperature will be measured, and symptoms assessed prior to starting work) • Regular Monitoring (self-monitor for symptoms) • Wear a Mask (mask / face covering will be worn at all times) • Social Distance (the employee will remain 6 feet away from others as work duties permit) • Disinfect and Clean workspaces (clean all areas of sustained occupancy routinely)
