Deed of Works of Art

At the time of accessioning we send the artist a Deed of Work form whichadvises the artist that we have their work in the collection and requestpermission to:

(see 3) ‘…reproduce the Work for the purpose of archiving under theCopyright Act 1968. In addition, the Artist grants the University anon-exclusive royalty-free, perpetual licence to reproduce theWork for the purpose of a digital on-line catalogue database whichis accessed by students and the public without charge. For otherreproduction, the Artist will be contacted separately.’

For Video / multimedia works, the Deed of Work document requests:

4.4 Still images may be extracted from the Work for reproductionunder

clause 3 above.

This form along with several other ‘template’ forms are regularly reviewedand updated by the University Legal section to take into account any newrules and regulations on copyright, moral and ethical rights of the maker/s
