Dear Cowern Families & Friends, Dr. Seuss said, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” We’ve had about 165 days of school this year and countless memories! I’d like to share some of my favorite moments from the school year. Your children may have mentioned that I often eat lunch in the cafeteria, typically with Kindergarten and 1st grade students. This is one of my favorite parts of each day, because the stu-dents’ love for school and each other is admirable. I also have enjoyed our numer-ous all school events, includ-ing the Fund Run, Veterans

Day program, Vikings as-sembly, and carnival. The way our school community pulls together and makes these events happen is im-pressive. I’d be remiss not to mention the moments I’ve shared with staff—I appreci-ate their dedication to servic-ing students, reviewing data to make instructional deci-sions, and overall sense of pride in our Cowern commu-nity. It has been a great year!! At the end of this school year, we will be saying good-bye to seven of our licensed staff members. I’ve appreci-ated their dedication to Cowern and they will be greatly missed. Our music teacher, Ms. Caroline Amrich, has been instrumen-tal in building the music pro-gram. She has taken a new position at a charter school in Minnetonka. Mrs. Amanda Bell has served as our speech language pathologist. She is an advocate for students who receive specialized services and will be working with our younger learners, still in Dis-trict 622. Ms. Jackie

Eichenberger is headed to Harvard! We have been for-tunate to have her as a leader in our building and providing programming to our English learners. Our 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Kelli Johnson, will be teaching at Eagle Point starting next school year. She has been a mem-ber of the leadership team and helps support our build-ing in many ways. Mr. Kurt Kirschling will be taking his expertise in serving students with disabilities to a nearby district. He has helped sup-port many students in his time at Cowern. Ms. Katie LeTourneau was our 2nd grade teacher this school year and built a strong class-room community. Our gym teacher, Mrs. Snyder, is retir-ing after 33 years in educa-tion. She has a kindness about her that will be missed in the building. Thank you, families, for all of the memories, support, and entrusting us with your children. Have a wonderful summer. Best, Dr. Jen Wilson

From the Health Office

Library Books

While you’re doing your spring cleaning, please look for any library books belonging to Cowern. Thanks for your help!

The end of the year is quickly approaching. If your child has medication in the school health office, a plan needs to be put in place for medication pick-up. Any leftover medication should be physically picked up on the last day of school by a parent or guardian. If this is not possible, arrangements must be made for alternative pick-up. In such cases, please call Anne O’Brien at 651-748-6815. If the medication is NOT picked up by the last day of school on June 9th, the medication will be dis-posed of at the end of the day on June 10th. Thank you.

Be healthy. Be happy. Be well.

ATTENTION: Parents of Students Keeping Medication in the Health Office at School

Lost & Found All lost and found items will be donated on Thursday, June 9. Please check for your child’s lost items before the school year ends! They are hanging on the rack, down the stairs next to the reception desk.
