    A note from the director

    All of us at

    the Crisis

    Pregnancy

    Center of

    the Desert

    would like

to extenda heartfelt thank you for your continued

faithfulness in prayer and your ongoing

    encouragement and financial support.

You have been instrumental in helping

us to save the lives of unborn children

and be a positive influence in the livesof their mothers. This has been a

very exciting year for us as we have

    experienced a significant amount of

    growth and change.

    With the support and encouragement

of Southwest Church, we have begun

the process of becoming our own non-

    profit organization. This change will

allow us to not only fulfill our goal of

reaching more girls in crisis pregnancy

situations, but to also expand the scope

of our services and to grow our donor

database. We look forward to updating

you on this status in the coming months

and introducing you to our Board of

    Directors.

In order to distinguish ourselves from

    other Crisis Pregnancy Centers, we

have changed our name from The

Crisis Pregnancy Center to The Crisis

Pregnancy Center of the Desert. In

addition to the name change, we havea new website:

    www.cpcofthedesert.com. This new

website provides our clientele with more

    comprehensive information regarding

our services and allows them to have

quicker and more reliable access to uswhen theyre facing a crisis. The new

website also provides an opportunity for

our donors to give directly online.

Throughout this past year, The Crisis

Pregnancy Center has seen an increase

in people coming in for help. So far this

year, over 200 girls have been seen for

pregnancy tests alone. Of the 115 that

had positive tests, 56 were abortion

vulnerable and 30 made decisions of life

for their unborn child. And those are just

the ones we know about. We were also

blessed to walk alongside one of those

precious mothers who not only chose

life for her little one, but also made the

selfless decision to place her beautiful

baby girl in the arms of a loving adoptive

family chosen by her. God is good!

Over 400 parenting classes have been

    conducted by dedicated volunteers

through our Earn While You Learn

    program, educating mothers and fathers

    with valuable information before the

arrival of their little one. Many of our

Earn While You Learn parents have not

    only taken classes throughout their

pregnancy, but have returned after their

baby is born to continue their education

in preparation for the impending toddler

    years!

    Sweet Peas Baby Boutique received

a face lift in March and as a result of

advertising on social media and a new

website, our sales have increased. We

are thrilled to be able to provide young

    parents the opportunity to purchase

items for their little ones at an affordable

price, all while donating the proceeds

to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of the

Desert. If you get a chance, please stop

by the store and pick out something cute

for the baby in your life.

    Visit our new website at

    www.sweetpeaspalmdesert.com.

We are thankful, honored, and privileged

to be part of the life saving work here

at the Center and ask that you keep us

in prayer as God continues to use us to

grow His ministry. Every donation of

time, service, money, material items andprayer is positively affecting a change

and potentially saving the life of an

unborn child. Thank you for being an

    integral part of that work.

We wish you and yours a blessed

Christmas season and look forward to

updating you in the coming year with

more exciting news of all the work that

God is doing in and through the Crisis

    Pregnancy Center of the Desert.

    Volunteering at the Crisis Pregnancy

Center and the Earn While You Learn

Parenting program is a great blessing to

me in this time of my life.

My husband and I raised three boys and

we now have six grandchildren and one

    great granddaughter. Needless to say,

we have had a very active life. None of

our family currently live close by to us

and I was really missing that mothering

feeling. About 8 years ago God led

me to The Crisis Pregnancy Center of

    the Desert.

Here, I feel a real sense of purpose,

    watching young women awaken to

the awareness of the new life growing

within them and guiding new parents

through the realities of pregnancy and

parenting. In a way, they have become

my family. Our encounters range from

great sadness to great joy. It is always

such a thrill when they bring their

newborn and growing babies in to see

    us.

Moreover, I feel I have a loving family

    of sisters (fellow volunteers) who

come along side me and share in this

    calling. They are always encouraging

and ready to hold me up in times of

my own struggles. When we gather to

pray at the start of each day, our bonds

grow stronger. None of us could do this

without Gods guidance and we pray for

the love, words and wisdom to minister

to everyone who comes into the center.

I am so very thankful to have the

privilege and opportunity to be part of

this ministry and for the many blessingsit brings all of us as we see Gods hand

at work here day to day.

    Kay Sheets

Here I feel a real sense of

    purpose, watching young

    women awaken

    to the awareness of the

    new life growing

    within them.

    ABOUT

    OUR GUEST

    SPEAKER

    Carol Everett had

    an abortion in

    1973, shortly after

    the landmark

decision for Roe v. Wade. Lured by the

substantial income and driven by the

subconscious desire to justify her own

abortion decision, she spent six years

selling abortions to other women in four

    abortion clinics in Dallas/Fort Worth.

After 35,000 abortions, the death of one

woman and surgery on 19 other patients,

God brought her to a crossroads. Her life

changed dramatically when she came to

know the love and saving grace of Jesus

    Christ in 1983.

Answering Gods call, she now uses herexperiences and faith to help set girls and

women free from abortion by connecting

    them with positive, life-affirming options.

She first worked educating the pro-

    life movement about the day-to-day

    activities inside the abortion industry,

as well as offering expert testimony in

courts across the nation as well as 33

    State Legislatures and Congress. In

1995, she founded the Heidi Group which

partners with women and their families

to meet the needs of a crisis pregnancy

    using practical and scriptural solutions.
