Get writing for your new teacher

This week, we want you to write anything of

your choice! It could be a story, a newspaper

report, a diary, a letter.

If you want to write a story, it could be, an

adventure story, a mystery narrative or any-

thing in-between. If you choose to write a sto-

ry, use the boxes on this page and the next

page to plan your story. If you choose to write

something different, don’t forget to plan it first!

Setting

Where does your story take place?

What can be heard there?

How might your characters feel there?

Draw a picture of your setting:

Once you have planned your piece of writing, it’s time to get writing. When you have finished don’t

forget to send it into school. You could type it up or write it in your best handwriting to impress

your new teacher. Please send your pieces of writing into school by Friday 17th July 2020.

writing in a creative way. See the examples below:

Create a self portrait , you can use any medium

you wish. For example: paint, crayons, collage

etc. Around the outside you could write a series

of words about your self. You could even write

a poem! It’s up to you.

When you have created your self portrait send it

into school.

Just like animals, flowers are living things that reproduce. They too have a lifecycle. This week, we’re focusing on the role

that the flower plays in a plant’s lifecycle.

Reproduction The process of new living things being made.

Pollination The process by which a plant can reproduce.

WONDERS OF THE WORLD!

The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World is the first known list of the most remarkable creations of

classical antiquity.

Since then, many similar lists have been made. e.g. The New Seven Wonders of the World.

New7Wonders of the World (2000–2007) was a campaign started in 2000 to choose Wonders of

the World from a selection of 200 existing monuments.

The New7Wonders Foundation said that more than 100 million votes were cast through the Inter-

net or by telephone. In 2007, the winners were announced.

Task 1: Match the picture and the name (see below)

Task 3: Why do you think these monuments were chosen? Why might people want to go and visit

them?

P.S.H.E Let’s continue to stay active with our P.S.H.E learning

this week. Can you create a dance to represent our 5

ways of wellbeing.

You could come up with 5 different motifs for each way of

wellbeing. Once you have come up with your 5 different

motifs think about how you can link them in a sequence.

Once you have practices your routine, see if you can teach

it to someone in your family, or you could perform it. Ask

your family members to see if they can work out which

wellbeing element your motifs represent.

Christian art are the same and different.

Until now we have been focusing on art but to-

day we are going to think

about how drama is used

in religion.

Drama is often used in reli-

gion as a way of reinforc-

ing important stories and

teachings.

For Christians acting out the parables like

'The Good Samaritan' is a way of teaching

others how God would like us to behave.

But drama is used in lots of other religions

too. Today we are going to learn and act out

the story behind the important Hindu festi-

val of Diwali.

own shadow puppet theatre.

For the shadow puppets you will need:

Cardboard - back of cereal packets work just fine

Sticks— lollipop sticks or wooden skewers work well

Tape

For the theatre you will need:

Cardboard box

Tape

Lamp

Tissue paper or white baking paper

Task— your job is to make a shadow puppet of Rama, Sita and

the demon King, Ravana. Next make a shadow puppet theatre and re-tell the story of Diwali.
