DESCRIPTION

CPI Security is a regional home security provider based out of the South East region of the United States. They offer a strong range of home security, automation and energy saving features to their customers. Having been in business since 1976, they are one of the more experience home security providers we have reviewed. Our greatest concern regarding CPI Security is the length of their service contracts (5 years) and expensive cancellation fees. For more information regarding CPI Security to help you make a decision regarding a security provider, read through these slides or find our full review at: http://besthomesecuritycompanys.com/company/cpi-security

CPI Security has been serving families and small businesses in the South East since 1976. With more than 30 years in the industry, CPI is an experienced company. They provide custom designed security systems and quality equipment. CPI has added home automation features to their offering in recent years, including remote control over thermostats, lighting and more. Automation features are included and can be added to several of their packages.

CPI Security offers their customers a range of equipment including security, energy-saving, and home automation features. Apps for smartphones and tablets allow customers to control their equipment remotely. Despite their broad offering of features, complaints can be found online regarding faulty motion, door, and window sensors, which is a point of concern. Customers may choose from equipment, including: •  Wireless or wired control panel •  Smart thermostat •  720p HD interior camera •  Remote keyless door lock

•  Fire sensor •  Motion detector •  Free apps for smartphones •  And more

Installation is performed by CPI’s professional technicians. While this is typically a good thing, it can present challenges moving equipment, especially if you are moving outside of the areas CPI typically services. Basic activation and installation costs are $99 which is fairly typical, and may go up based on special installs and added features. No phone line is needed for install.

CPI Security has the experience to be a great company. We do have several concerns, however: •  Customers are typically locked into a five year contract. Cancellation

fees amount to 75% of the remaining contract balance, which adds up very quickly.

•  Customer support is a concern in that customers have expressed concerns about having negative experience with customer support.

•  The difficulty of moving equipment and limited service area can make things hard for customers that may not be ready to commit to an area.

•  Lastly, their contract is longer than other companies we have reviewed, who offer more standard equipment than CPI Security. Our experience is that long contracts typically do not favor customer autonomy.

CPI Security has a long history of serving customers and may be a great option for those living in the South East United States due to their strong presence in that region. Our concerns on the previous slide prevent us from giving CPI Security our full recommendation, but we feel they are worth keeping on your radar as they often offer special deals that can be quite enticing. As always, be sure to thoroughly go over the contract before signing up and be sure you understand potential issue that could arise if you move, want to upgrade your equipment and other likely scenarios.
