Proceeds from the M.A.C.C. Chili Cook Off will be donated to Isaac’s (Crane) Fund
On Tuesday, June 10, Isaac suffered an unresponsive episode. His daddy, was able to revived him. Jenna and Jeremiah (his parents) took Isaac to
Children’s Hospital where he was diagnosed with Aspiration Pneumonia. He was then admitted to the PICU. Testing began to find the cause of Isaac’s low
muscle tone, present since birth.
Less than a week later, Jenna and Jeremiah were given the devastating news that Isaac has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. His muscles will continue to
atrophy until he passes away. His parents have been told that Isaac has months to possibly a year. Doctors say he is on the weaker end of Type 1,
which is the most severe.
The Crane Family, parents Jenna and Jeremiah, big sister Natalie and Isaac live in the Town of Mead. Please help us support the Crane family, by
attending the M.A.C.C. Chili Cook Off on October 11th or taking the time to donate at www.gofundme.com/agbytg.
Sponsored by the:
Isaac’s Fund (Crane) Chili Cook Offby Tiffany // September 8, 2014 // No Comments The M.A.C.C. was planning on holding a Chili Cook Off in October, when we became
aware of the Crane family, who are Mead residents. Parents, Jeremiah and Jenna’s youngest child Isaac was recently diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The prognosis is bleak, but this young family of 4, with 2 year old sister, Natalie are doing everything power to give Isaac everything he needs.
Upon learning of Isaac and the Crane family, the Mead Area Chamber of Commerce, chose to instead make the Chili Cook Off a benefi t for the Crane’s. The outpouring of support and volunteers for the Chili Cook Off has been amazing. Not an hour after I fi rst sent out the poster via social media, the local newspaper, the Carbon Valley Consumer Report, contacted me requesting a PDF of the document as they were going to print in 2 hours. I was so surprised and thankful, when I received this month’s issue because the editor actually donated a full sheet spread for the poster.
At the fi rst meeting to organize the event we had 8 people attend and offer to head up various aspects of the event. We have already begun receiving donations for a Silent Auction to be held during the Cook Off. Posters and fl yers have been hung up around town. People all over social media are sharing the posts. R.S.V.P.’s are coming in left and right. And honestly, all of this could not have come at a better time for the Crane’s, as Isaac is once again back at children’s hospital.
As a mother and wife, my heart is seriously breaking for this family. I am truly amazed by their strength and love for one another. While, I am sure that the circumstances have made their lives emotional roller coasters, they are do not seem to dwell on the sadness or the diffi cult times they have had and continue to endure, all they are focused on is providing their two small children with the love, strength and support that they deserve and need.
Please helps us to support Isaac Crane and his family, join us for the Chili Cook Off, as a contestant, as a sponsors, as a donor or just to sample the chili. If you are unable to attend, please visit www.gofundme.com/agbytg.

Cause for CelebrationMountain View Fire Rescue (MVFR) and the Town of Mead are
proud to announce the completion of the new Mead Town Hall and Fire Station!
In order to decrease the cost of this project, the Town of Mead and MVFR received an energy impact grant from the Division of Local Affairs. “This is a beautiful building for the community. It would not have been possible without the generous grants provided by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs ($750,000) and Encana ($82,000). I want to say thank you to both of those organizations,” stated Town Manager, Dan Dean.
“Our focus is the citizens. We wanted to construct a building that gave MVFR everything we needed to be able to care for the citizens of Mead for years to come,” said Assistant Chief of Administration Roger Rademacher.
A ribbon cutting celebration was held on September 13th prior to the beginning of the Annual Mead Community Day Event. “It’s wonderful to see organizations working together to serve and protect the public,” stated Congressman Cory Gardner.
Mountain View Fire Rescue (MVFR) is a full servicefi re department providing both fi re and emergencymedical services. MVFR serves 184 square milesincluding Dacono, Del Camino, Erie, Mead, Niwot, and unincorporated areas of Boulder and Weld counties.

I typically try to write about upcoming events when I write these articles however, I would be remiss to not start this article by acknowledging this year’s Mead Community Day event that was held on Saturday, September 13th.
First and Foremost, I want to thank and acknowledge the Community Day Committee, Town of Mead Staff, Mountain View Fire Department, Town of Mead Citizens, Community Day Sponsors and all of the volunteers and participants that made this year’s celebration such a spectacular and successful event.
Of the volunteers and participants, I want to specifi cally acknowledge Mead High School Football, Volleyball, Marching Band and the Cheer and Dance teams for their contributions to this year’s event. It is hard to believe that it was only 6 short school years ago that the doors were opened. You have all done so much to help bring our town together, embrace our traditions and continue to make Mead such a great place to live. Thank You.
This year’s celebration was combined with the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly remodeled Town Hall and Mountain View Fire Department building. I believe that this new
building will serve as a cornerstone in our community for many years to come and is a great example of how we can combine our past with our future and enhance our town at the same time.
With all of that being said, I want to turn your attention once again to a few of the improvements that are taking place within our community. Road repairs are scheduled to begin on September 22nd and will surely continue into October, please give these crews every courtesy while passing through their work zones. You may want to consider using alternate routes to avoid delays in these work areas.
Also, many of you have asked me about the crews along 3rd Street (WCR 7) between Adams Ave. and Welker Ave. There are pipeline crews in this same area that we are constructing our new trail so it can be a little confusing where one project starts and the other begins. The trails project is along the West side of 3rd Street and is marked by the wooden stakes with orange ribbon.
Lastly, I would like to remind you of the Mead Clean-Up Days scheduled for October 17th & 18th. You will receive your permit cards within the Mead Messenger newsletter in early October.

HELP SUPPORT THE STAMPEDE!!!
With the support of the Town of Mead, the Mead Youth Sports Association, local businesses and the community at large, the Mead Stampede was formed to provide a strong atmosphere for the development of youth baseball players. The Stampede is built upon a commitment to each individual player and the team "family" as a whole. By involving a community of support, the Stampede is designed to provide sustained commitment over time for the benefit of everyone who becomes a Stampeder. Please consider supporting the Stampede in any of the following ways: Uniform Sponsorship. Uniform sponsors' commercial logos will be displayed on all player jerseys. Further, sponsor information and commercial logos will be displayed prominently on the Stampede website, commercial logos will appear on game-day banners and sponsors will receive generous mention during team addresses throughout the year. If the sponsor wishes, the uniform sponsor will be provided with the opportunity to provide a commercial message to the families of the Stampede at a team event during the season. Limited uniform sponsorship is available.
Equipment Sponsorship. Equipment sponsors' commercial logos will be displayed on team equipment and/or coaching apparel, sponsor information and commercial logo will be displayed on the Stampede website, commercial logos will appear on game-day banners and sponsors will receive mention during team addresses throughout the year.
Tournament Sponsorship. Tournament sponsor information and commercial logo will be displayed on the Stampede website, commercial logos will appear on game-day banners and sponsors will receive mention during team addresses throughout the year. Community support is appreciated and valued by the Stampede. It takes a village to raise baseball players. In turn, the Stampede hopes to be a valued asset for our community. If you, your family or any organization would like to become a booster for the Stampede, you can "join the herd" by contacting [email protected] or by calling 720.313.8459.

Let It Goby Tiffany // September
22, 2014 // No Comments Working two part-time
jobs, and promoting a side company is a lot, but add to that a husband; three children, well now you may be in over your head. Ok, maybe I am just speaking for myself. I feel like I am drowning, it would be great to cut back on a few things in my professional life,
but for the foreseeable future, this is what has to be done.Obviously, I can’t take away from my time with my
family anymore than I already have, so something has to give. For me that is keeping the house clean, or as clean as I would like it to be. So there are toys everywhere, the kids throw their backpacks where ever; and the mornings consist of spending 10 minutes looking for missing shoes. At least there are clean dishes and clothes, true the clothes may not be put away in drawers, but rather stacked on top of dressers, but they are clean.
Ready meals have become my new best friend, because between jobs, after school picks ups and practices, there is no way that I would be able to cook a decent meal. Not that I am that great of a cook to begin with.
I take on way more than I should, but in the end doing so was my choice, so now I need to do whatever needs to be done to make it work. Finding a balance is not easy and I don’t necessarily believe that I am there yet, but I am working on it. Like everything in my life, it is a work in progress.
Letting go is not an easy feat, but when kids come into your life, you have to learn that you can’t control everything, which for a control freak like me is diffi cult to grasp.
Here is my question to you, what have you learn to let go of, in hopes of fi nding a better work family balance?
