Create a Table Using the Table Wizard1. In the Database window, click Tables in the

Objects bar.

2. Double-click Create table by using wizard inthe right pane of the Database window.

Click OK.

3. In the first wizard step, select a tablecategory (Business or Personal), and thenselect a sample table and sample fields forthe table.

5. In subsequent wizard steps, enterappropriate responses to the wizardprompts.

Create a Table in Design View1. In the Database window, click Tables in the

3. In the upper pane of the table designwindow, enter field names and select datatypes for each field in the table.

4. If desired, click in the field you want to set asthe primary key, and click Primary Key .

5. Save and name the table.

Modify Field Properties1. Open a table in Design view.

2. In the upper pane of the table designwindow, click in the row of the field whoseproperties you want to change.

3. Click in the Field Properties pane . . . . . . F6

4. Navigate to the appropriate field propertyand modify it.

5. Save the changes to the table design.

Create an Input Mask1. Open a table in Design view.

2. In the upper pane of the table designwindow, click in the row of the field whoseproperties you want to change.

3. Click in the Input Mask property box.

4. Click Build at the right end of the InputMask property box to start the Input MaskWizard.

5. Enter appropriate responses to the wizardprompts.

6. Save the changes to the table design.

Import Data Into an Access Table1 Click File. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Alt + F

4. In the Import dialog box, navigate to thecorrect folder, and select the correct filetype.

Export Data From an Access Table1. In the Database window, click the table

name to select it.

4. In the Export Table dialog box, navigate tothe location where you want to export thedata, and select the appropriate file type.

4. In the Link dialog box, navigate to thelocation where the file you wish to link to isstored, and select the appropriate file type.

Create a Relationship1. Click Relationships .

Select each table you want to relate, clickingAdd after each selection.

4. Close the Show Tables dialog box.

5. Drag the common field from one table anddrop it onto the common field in the othertable.

6. In the Edit Relationships dialog box, clickCreate.

7. Close the Relationships window.

8. Click Yes in the message box that promptsyou to save changes to the relationshipslayout.

Enforce Referential Integrity1. Click Relationships .

2. Double-click the relationship line betweenthe two tables.

3. In the Edit Relationships dialog box, click toselect the Enforce Referential Integrity option.

4. If desired, click to select the Cascade UpdateRelated Fields or Cascade Delete RelatedRecords options.

Create a Lookup Field1. Open a table in Design view.

2. In the upper pane of the table designwindow, choose the Lookup Wizard datatype for the field you wish to designate as aLookup field.

3. Enter appropriate responses to the wizardprompts.

4. Save the changes to the table design.
