• The legislature funded $6 million for the continued expansion of undergraduate and graduate medical education, and biomedical research at the Academic Health Science Center. This will support pre-clinical instruction in the WWAMI program and will expand medical education by 20 second-year medical students in Spokane per year.
• Advocated with Association of Washington Business and 25 other chambers in WA to reform workers compensation, reduce state expenditures and encourage economic recovery through job creation.
• Worked with local, state, and federal elected officials to retain the National Institute of Occupational Health and Research (NIOSH), an agency part of the Center for Disease Control and increase full time employees in City of Spokane.
