Step 2: Creating a Graph

1) The top horizontal row should include the two variables you are

comparing.

On the left insert the FEV

and the VC

Open Excel and enter values in the form of a table:

*** Remember that all values should be averages!!

1) Click on the INSERT

button on the top menu

2) Click on the COLUMN Icon

Click on the first 2 Dimensional bar graph. Do not try to be too fancy.

Keep it simple and CLEAR!

1) To change the colour of the bars, right click

on the chosen bar

2) Select "Format Data Series"

3) Click on "Fill'

4) Choose "Solid Fill"

5) One of your bars should be black, and the other

should be light grey

1) Click on the Layout Button under the Chart tools title

2) Click on the Axis Title and choose Primary Vertical Axis Title

3) Chose the Rotated Title option ***Please remember to include the units with your title 4) To insert a title for your

graph, click on the Chart Title icon and follow the same steps.

Step 5: Deleting the Horizontal Gridlines

To delete the horizontal gridlines, right-click on the gridlines and

select "DELETE".

Once you've copy and pasted your Graph in Word, be sure to number each one of your graphs. This will allow you to refer

to them during your analysis.
