Creating a World Without Sexual ExploitationHow consumer demand drives the commercial sex trade and what we can do about it
ABOUT THE EVEN TThis event will feature public policy experts, as well as readings from the work “A Day in the Life,” to help members of Congress, their staff, and concerned citizens in understanding critical human rights concerns related to how consumer demand fuels the commercial sex trade. The readings will connect the harsh impacts of sex trafficking on the lives of teenagers—whose paths have been forever changed by commercial sexual exploitation—with the need for improved policies. Following the readings, sur-vivors of sex trafficking and subject matter experts will share their policy recommendations for combating sex trafficking by targeting the demand for commercial sex to foster a world free from sexual exploitation.
