Who We areCreative Consulting & Development Works is a research, evaluation and communications consultancy, servicing nonprofits, governments and donors with innovative solutions within the development context.

Since 2003, we have supported government, nonprofit and civil society organisations,

academia, funders and corporate social investment departments to meet critical global development challenges including poverty, unemployment, hIV/aIDS, environmental issues and unequal access to education and health care.

IntroDuCtIon

DIrECtor Lindy Briginshaw founded Creative Consulting & Development Works in 2003. She has 20+ years experience in project planning, coordination, management and evaluation of complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders; as well as significant experience in strategic planning, organisational development, budgeting, marketing and communication campaigns, and social entrepreneurship. She holds a Ba in Politics and Development and is completing her Masters Degree in Community Development.GEnErAL MAnAGEr AnD rESEArCH & EVALuAtIon MAnAGEr Susannah Clarke joined CC&DW in 2008, and provides sound theoretical background in gender, social justice, poverty and development issues. Susannah holds a Ba humanities degree in Psychology and Sociology and an honours degree in Sociology, both from the University of Stellenbosch, a Masters degree in Social Justice from the University of Cape Town and a Diploma in Monitoring and evaluation Methods through the University of Stellenbosch.

BuSInESS DEVELoPMEnt ASSoCIAtE Michaela Luckner shines light on the business aspects of our projects. With an honours Degree in Business Studies, Michaela has years of hands on experience in project management, including business strategies, creative input at the concept level, design, research and strategic implementation, sourcing, production, costing, distribution and legal aspects.

FInAnCE MAnAGEr nuraan Kader has over 20 years of experience as an accounting professional with a strong auditing background. She has worked as Finance Manager for Weskus electric, Parker and Khan Inc. and Medscheme, responsible for invoicing, monthly management accounts, age analysis, statutory returns and more. Nuraan has a Bachelors of Commerce degree from the University of the Western Cape.

SEnIor rESEArCHEr & EVALuAtor Barbara torresi has extensive international experience in project management, research, and evaluation. She recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and evaluation Methods at the University of Stellenbosch, which complemented the knowledge she had acquired through her BSc Geography (King’s College London) and Masters Degrees in Medical anthropology and Urban Planning (both from University College London).

She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and evaluation Management (PGD MeM) from the University of Stellenbosch, and two Masters Certificates from the University of Johannesburg in respectively advanced Social research Methodology; and Social Impact assessment (SIa). She is currently enrolled for a course in appreciative Inquiry at UNISa.

rESEArCHEr & EVALuAtor Leanne Adams has experience in developing and evaluating M&e systems for social programmes for both NGo and public sector clients. She has a strong base of qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation practice having completed a Masters in Programme Monitoring and evaluation and a BSocSci honours degree in Psychology at UCT. Leanne specialises in research and evaluation methodology, Theory of Change development, and advanced statistical analysis techniques.

rESEArCHEr & EVALuAtor nicola van der Merwe has over 7 years’ research and evaluation experience, with specific focus on behaviour change and community development programmes. Nicola holds a degree in human and Societal Dynamics, as well as a Master’s degree in Criminology and a Master’s degree in Programme evaluation at the University of Cape Town.

JunIor rESEArCHEr & EVALuAtor Shariefah Mahomed joined CC&DW after completing her Masters in Programme evaluation at the University of Cape Town. She has a background in psychology and organisational psychology with specialist knowledge in recruitment and selection. Shariefah is skilled in theory-driven evaluation science with a particular focus on educational interventions.Prior to joining CC&DW, Shariefah has been employed at one of Southern africa’s leading retailers as a project manager: transformation, where she was responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the new business model strategy within the Western Cape region.

rESEArCH & EVALuAtIon IntErn Mkhululi Mnyaka earned a certificate in Public Sector Monitoring and evaluation from the School of Public leadership at the University of Stellenbosch in 2015. Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science degree (honours), in Public Policy from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Political Studies and Media and Writing from the University of Cape Town. he is currently working towards his MPhil in Monitoring and evaluation at Stellenbosch University, and will complete his studies in 2017.

oFFICE ASSIStAnt Beronisha Cloete holds a Btech Degree in entrepreneurship (Cum Laude) from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She assists in the smooth running of the office as well as supports the internship programme, if i could… Beronisha’s main interests are Business and Financial Services which she would like to specialize in.

oFFICE SuPErVISor Carmen Sylvester handles a number of administrative tasks required to ensure a smooth-running office environment. Carmen has experience in finance, international recruitment, and certification of documents and medical exams for the Cape Town high Court. She holds an executive Secretarial Diploma.

MArKEtInG AnD CoMMunICAtIonS CoorDInAtor Monica Davies has a degree in Journalism for the University of Pretoria and certificates in interactive web design and marketing strategy. She ran digital mobilisation campaigns for international environmental NGos for five years, and continues to focus on how online media can connect real-life issues to people who can make a difference offline.

rESEArCH & EVALuAtIon IntErn Fatima Mathivha joined us this year as a research and evaluation Intern. She holds a Masters in Development Studies from the University of Witwatersrand. Prior to this, she completed her honours degree in Philosophy. her interests lie in social justice issues with a focus on gender and racial perspectives. She has previous experience as a research assistant and Content Producer.

rESEArCH & EVALuAtIon IntErn Mlungisi Zuma is currently pursuing an MPhil in Programme evaluation from the University of Cape Town and hopes to graduate in 2017. he holds a Social Sciences degree from the University of Cape Town majoring in Psychology and Sociology, and an honours degree in Social Policy and Management where the main focus was on organisational Development.

IF I CouLD... SEnIor ProGrAMME CoorDInAtor nina Hanedoes has been involved in various initiatives in the development sector. Nina has facilitated studies in community development, managed international and grassroots developments programming and consulted community-based and non-profit organizations in facilitation and training, programme and/or curriculum design, mentorship and monitoring and evaluation. apart from holding a Masters degree in International Communication Studies at the International School for humanities and Social Sciences in amsterdam, she is also a graduate in Community Development and Service Learning from the University of Stellenbosch.

IF I CouLD... nEW DELHI CoorDInAtor Vidushi Malhotra is passionate about sustainable development. She has been working in the development sector for over three years with international organisations such as Development alternatives in India and Tarayana Foundation in Bhutan. apart from holding a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, she is also an honours graduate in Development Studies from the University of South africa. Vidushi joins us from New Delhi and also brings with her a variety of experience in film-making, business development and communications.
