It’s predicted this year we’ll have a hard winter. Soon the trees will stand bare, the icy winds will blow and snowmen will begin to populate our snow-covered gardens! Some of us adore winter, we snuggle up with a lovely hot chocolate, enjoy Bonfire Night and frosty walks, or have snowball fights. But some of us would rather hibernate away with the hedgehogs or migrate south with the birds!

We’d love to know your thoughts on winter, how will you be spending it or where would you rather be instead? Do you celebrate any festivals, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali or Hogmanay?

Whatever you love about winter and the festive season, write a poem and let us know. We will select poems to feature in a special anthology and our editors will select the best girl poet and the best boy poet, who’ll each win a huge bag crammed full of books! (See our website for further details.)
