Creativity – Week 9
Have you been on a walk recently? Did you happen to notice all of the resources around you that are
free? Like a fallen leaf, a pebble, a twig or a daisy?
Well now is your chance to get creative and send something to those that you miss.
Creativity – Week – Making Art with Nature
TASK 1: Go on a walk with your siblings or you family!
This could be anywhere, perhaps around Arrow Valley Lake, a park or just around the area that is close to
where you live.Remember to take some sort of bag with you to collect your resources, a carrier bag will be fine.
TASK 2: Whilst on your walk have a look for things that you could collect. These might be fallen leaves, pebbles, feathers, anything that you like the look of!

TASK 3: Now you have to get creative! From all the things that you have collected, what could you make? Write down your ideas!
One idea could be to make a card. You will probably need other materials to help you too, maybe paper and colouring pencils or felt tips. Glue would be useful too or cellotape!
If you have tracing paper you could be quite clever, look at the images below!
The above designs have used leaves and stuck them down. They have then put tracing paper on top and added drawings to finish their designs. How clever!

TASK 4: Once you have created your masterpiece, think of someone who would really appreciate what you have made. Is there someone that you miss? Perhaps you haven’t spoken to them very much during lockdown? Is there a neighbour that you know would really appreciate being thought about? Perhaps they have felt a
little lonely?
Ask your parents/carers if you can send your creation to that person. Write a little note to go with it or if it is a card write a message inside. Even the words ‘Thinking of you’ could brighten
someone’s day!
A famous British artist has become very famous for doing exactly this! He create amazing art from natural objects then leaves them
to be taken away naturally by the wind, rain or sun!
Andy Goldsworthy is an artist from Scotland. He makes sculptures and other works of art out of natural materials: like wood, leaves or stones.
Who is Andy Goldsworthy?
This sculpture is made of stones.
Can you see what he’s wrapped around this tree?
It’s ice!
