Credit or Debit Card Payment Instructions: Please follow the step-by-step instructions on how to pay for a PBC application with a credit or debit card. After completing a Portable Background Check (PBC) application in MERIT, the applicant will see a confirmation screen in MERIT with the following payment options:

My Record Tab in MERIT If an applicant doesnt pay from the confirmation screen after submitting their PBC application, they can still reach the screen above by clicking Pay Now button from the My Record tab. This Pay Now button is displayed when the PBC application is pending and payment has not been made.

When an applicant selects the Pay by credit or debit card button they are redirected to this screen:
