• Since retiring from a 14 year Professional hockey career, Brant has focused much of his time & effort on his education
• With a clear understanding & respect of the importance education plays in life, Brant successfully completed his Business degree in April 2012
• Brant is the President of the Cree Nation Sports Academy

• He will not only serve as President, but also as a mentor & a role model to all of the Cree children that get the opportunity to participate
• He is very motivated & excited to continue making a positive impact on the Youth of the Cree Nation

• This young man excels in his sport, hockey
• This summer he made his 3rd trip to Europe playing for Team Canada Selects for the Under-16’s in Salzsburg, Austria
• He first showed great interest in competitive hockey in Montreal playing in the Atom division
• He made the BB Atom team the following year

• Thereafter he played Pee Wee AA for 2 years
• He moved up to Bantam AA playing in countless tournaments across Eastern Canada
• During these tournaments he received plenty of attention from other teams, one of them being the Scranton-Wilkes/Barre Jr Knights, Pennsylvania, USA
• He moved with his parents to Pennsylvania, a choice they would not regret

• The team players came from Canada, USA, Russia, Holland & Ukraine. They had an impressive record of 71-4-7 (W-L-T) qualifying them for the National Championships Under-14 Elite Division in Buffalo, NY
• The team won the tournament, taking home the championship
• It was a proud moment when all of the players displayed their countries’ flags, his “flag” was that of the Cree Nation of Mistissini

• He came back home to play in the Canada Cup in Ottawa with the Cree Nation Bears
• This year he has been invited to play in Midget AAA in Oakville, Ontario & began training in June
• For a young man, his resume already includes championships ranging from regional, national & international tournaments

• He has been scouted & mentioned in many scouting news articles in USA Hockey, Scouting News & Prospect News
• He has played in every major city across the Northeastern US & Canada, as well as in Europe
• When all young athletes dream of playing in the NHL, his biggest dream is to play for Team Canada in the World Juniors

• On his 5th birthday, his parents bought him his first motocross bike
• At age 6, he won his first championship in a local event when he placed first in the PeeWee class of 500cc racers
• He quickly developed as a rider & started winning championships in the amateur classes
• At the age of 15 he became one of the youngest riders to turn pro in Canada

• He also took a different path to compete in Snow-cross
• In his first year racing snow-cross he won both semi-pro stock & open class
• In 2004 he registered in the Semi-Pro class. He was ranked second in the Open 800cc class & third in the Stock 440cc class. That year he won the “Rookie of the Year” award

• In 2007 he attended the Canadian national circuit in the MX-2 class & finished 16th overall among the best Canadian & American racers
• He signed a contract with Warnert Racing team to race snow-cross in the World Snow-Cross Association of USA
• He finished 2nd overall in the sport class amongst the best in the world

• In 2012 his plans were to compete in a few selected regionals & provincials & the 2012 East Coast Canadian Nationals
• After dominating a few regional events he is now focused to compete in the last 4 Canadian Nationals
• At the age of 23, he is the only Aboriginal competing at a professional level & works to achieve his dream to be a Canadian National Champion

• A highlight of his racing career was his promotion, last Fall, to the Professional category to compete at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in front of 55,000 spectators
• In his qualifying run he raced against 100 riders with only 25 spots in the finals
• He qualified & moved to the finals
• He competed in style & finished in 14th place

• A summary of his achievements:
• 1998 - Competed at the Loretta Lynn Amateur Nationals in Nashville TN & finished 21st
• 2001 - Competed at the Florida winter series & finished 10th in the 85cc class
• 2002 - CMRC Quebec Champion 85cc
• 2003 - CMRC Quebec Champion 125cc Junior & Super-mini 105cc

• 2004 - Competed at the Montreal Olympic Stadium & Toronto Skydome & ranked 14th & 16th respectively, in the Professional 125cc class
• 2004 - Competed at the Canadian Amateur Nationals in Walton Ontario & ranked 4th in the Intermediate 125cc class
• 2004 - CMRC Quebec Champion 250cc Intermediate class

He says:
“As long as I am racing I want to be a role model for Aboriginal youth & an
ambassador for the Aboriginal peoples of Canada & the U.S. and, of course, I want to continue my education through College &
University.”

• He played over 70 games competitively each year
