Utilization of Laboratory:

Laboratory sessions are conducted in accordance with the scheduled as per the

curriculum plan and each lab is conducted under the supervision of assigned

faculty members and instructor.

In each lab, a log book is maintained for utilization of lab infrastructure where

each machine/ instrument used by student is clearly indicated in the log book so

that the proper operation and safety of that equipment is assured. This is how at

most care is taken to monitor and safeguard the equipments.

Before student performing the experiment, lab instructor or the faculty in charge

will explain about the special instructions that are to be followed by the student

in handling the equipment/ instrument in every lab.

Maintenance of Laboratory:

The laboratory equipments are periodically subjected to inspection by a team of

technicians or instructors for their correctness and working conditions. Repair

and replacements of equipments is initiated immediately when there is a break

down. So this is done in order to smooth conduct of experiments. This practice is

common across all the departments.

Cleaning of lab floors, machines, equipments, and instruments etc is taken care

by both attenders and housekeeping workforce to maintain cleanliness in the

laboratories and working premises to safe guard human health and to ensure

durability of equipments.

A separate Stock book register for each lab is maintained and updated in

in order to maintain computers in various labs is carried out by the instructor in

charge and system administrators and whenever there is a requirement for

additional systems the request is normally raised by the head of the department

to the management through Principal.

Maintenance of computers:

The department of computer science is responsible for safe guarding the computer

systems and other sensitive equipments such as Projectors, Printers, photo copier

machines, Scanners, servers, Bio-metric machines etc., against power failure and

other related faults, in this direction all the systems are provided with UPS systems

to avoid any damage during power outages.

Page 17: Criterion 4 - Infrastructure and Learning Resources (100)

Classroom utilization:

Classrooms for different classes/sections are identified and allotted as per the

strength of the students
