ORGANIC PRODUCTION IN SERBIA> 60% of farmers have less than 5 ha and commonly are growing fruits (strawberries, raspberry and similar)Vegetables are commonly grown by farmers which have 5-10 haApp. 25 % of farmers who have 10-20 ha are growing cereals and oilseedsOrganic agricultural products are mainly being sold to wholesalers and processing companies. Almost 70% of primary producers make selling contracts at the beginning of season. Direct sales, for example at marketplace and retail stores, is being accomplished by 20% of farmers. This way of allocation leads to the fact that farmers can increase the price of their organic products only 10-20% and cannot create added value, neither bigger profit. Despite of all, there is a positive trend of production and consumption of organic products, mainly in the population aged 25-35.
