Description

• Croque monsieur is a dish traditional to France.

• It’s a hot ham and cheese sandwich, but with a slight twist…

• Instead of just normal bread, Croque monsieur is sautéed in butter.

• This gives it a nice, crispy taste.

Origin

• It is unsure of how the idea of croque monsieur came to be.

• Some believe that the first croque monsieur was invented when some workers left their lunches by a radioactive machine, which melted their cheese.

• The sandwich was probably then added on to by some hot shot chef who decided to sauté the sandwiches in butter.
