'Crowfall' raises $1.8 million from crowdfunding campaigns 'Crowfall' raises $1.8 million from crowdfunding campaigns | GamePolitics The crowdfunding campaign for the MMO Crowfall has ended today. The game met its initial funding goal on February 27, raising over $850,000 - well above the $800,000 it was asking for. Since that time it has managed to raise $1,766,204 from 16,936 backers on Kickstarter - and when combined with what it raised on its web site, that total jumps to $1.8 million. ArtCraft describes Crowfall as a "Massively Multiplayer Online Throne War Simulator." Players take the roles of kings, queens, mercenaries and assassins and fight against players in other factions. During these drawn out battles players can help build castles and use siege weapons and tactics to defeat the opposing army before the world dies. Don't worry, a new one will serve as your next battle ground. The goal of the game is to focus more on player character development and less on the world in which they fight. ArtCraft Entertainment is the creation of industry veterans J. Todd Coleman (director, Shadowbane, Wizard101, Pirate101) and Gordon Walton (executive producer, Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Star Wars: the Old Republic). ArtCraft says that it will continue to raise funds for the game's development via the Crowfall web site: "This is only the beginning," explained J. Todd Coleman, co-founder and creative director. "We've built a vision. We've proven that we can find an audience. Now we just need to execute." You can learn more about the game by visiting www.crowfall.com.
