Remedial Goals
Public Health Protection:Prevent contact and ingestion of contaminated groundwater and soilsoilMitigate potential for contaminated soil vapor (from groundwater or soil) to impact indoor air quality
Environmental Protection:Meet groundwater quality standardsg q yPrevent discharge of contaminated groundwater to surface waterPrevent migration or uptake of soil contaminants

Feasibility Study Alternatives
• Five alternatives were evaluated– No Action (base line for comparison)– Zero-Valent Iron Permeable Reactive Barrier– In-Situ Chemical Oxidant Injection
Source Area In-Situ Chemical Oxidant Injection and– Source Area In-Situ Chemical Oxidant Injection and Natural Attenuation
• Each alternative includes a system to address the LNAPL in the groundwater and continues the operation of the SVE/SSD system, and placement of Environmental and

Institutional Controls.
Feasibility Study AlternativesEach Alternative were evaluated against 7
criteria:
– Protection of Human Health and Environment– Compliance with SCGs– Short-term Effectiveness– Long-term Effectiveness– Reduction of Toxicity, Mobility, or Volumeeduct o o o c ty, ob ty, o o u e– Implementability– Cost Effectiveness
