April Food Pantry Donation Don't forget that St. John's kids are also supporting local mission work through non-perishable food donations to our food pantry. Mrs. Festerling’s and Mrs. Campbell’s 1st and 2nd grades are the featured classrooms next month. Please send your donation to school. Thank you! Thank you to all who contributed in March.

Parents’ Preview The Parents’ Preview highlights an aspect of next week’s service: a liturgical song, a Psalm refrain, or a hymn stanza. Our hope and prayer is that parents will teach this portion of the service to their children at home during the week so that children can participate more fully in the worship service. Second Semester Mission Project St. John's Lends a Hand! St. John’s students have partnered with students at Wisconsin Lutheran High School to raise money to set up an aquaponics system in Zambia, Africa. This program is aimed at bringing a new way to grow vegetables and at the same time bring fresh fish to the dinner table to villages in Africa. Dr. Anderson of Wisconsin Lutheran College and his team of students have developed a method to raise Tilapia, a fish when full grown get to be about the size of a bass, and using the fish waste products to grow plants hydroponically. These systems use the resources of the area to connect pipes, pumps, fish tanks to the grow beds where the plants live. The money we collect will be used to set up a system at each of the schools and then have a reserve bank account for villages to draw from to help them set up their own systems. Through this, our schools and pastors can once again share the real bread of life to the villages of Zambia. To date we have raised $462.00 for this mission. Please consider making a donation in the envelope sent home today. This is a great way to welcome your student back to school after our spring break and support our efforts in this mission project.

Childcare News Childcare will be closed Good Friday April 14th and Monday April 17th in observation of the Easter Holiday.

K3 News The warm weather has been such a blessing this winter! We have been able to go outside to play in February and March – unbelievable!! We are welcoming spring with our study of many animals that have been hibernating through the winter. The children have been counting and studying color with fun stories about a snake (The Greedy Python), a frog (The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog), and a chameleon (The Mixed-Up Chameleon). Unfortunately, the firefighter visit has been canceled for this week. It will be rescheduled. The children have been enjoying our firefighter theme corner. We have a truck, coats, helmets, a walkie talkie, a badge, a hose, and pretend fire to put out. In out Bible lesson, we heard how a crowd of people waved palm branches and praised Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem. We know that Jesus is our Savior and King. We also praise him with our songs, prayers, and loving words and actions.
