Copystar is pleased to introduce the New CS-3060 / CS-2560

The New CS-3060 / CS-2560 are the latest addition to Copystar’s line of Monochrome

Multifunctional Devices. The new CS-3060 / CS-2560 come standard with Network Print

and Color Scan and Send capabilities, which will accommodate the needs of most small

to mid-size business workgroups.

With the Copystar CS-3060 / CS-2560, customers can choose whether they require a

30PPM devices or a 25PPM device, based on their print, scan and copying needs.With

the Copystar CS-3060 / CS-2560 and it’s abilities to Network Print and Network Color

Scan, customers’ can also reduce equipment redundancy, such as locally attached

flatbed scanners and printers by consolidating all of these requirements using a centrally

located CS-3060 / CS-2560 MFP. .

The CS-3060 / CS-2560 will provide customers with a wider range of choices when

deciding on which product will best fit their business structure, and are a welcome addition

to Copystar’s Monochrome Multifunctional Product Line.

The new CS-3060 and the new CS-2560 are products intended for the workgroup,

where printing, scanning and faxing are part of the daily workflow process and require

an MFP that is highly reliable and easy to use.

The CS-3060 and the CS-2560 standard features and functionality, when combined

with Copystar’s advanced user-friendly software solutions, allow users to easily network

print, network scan or network fax from the desktop or the MFP. For the IT administrator,

the advance software monitoring tools will allow administrators to control all of the

business processes across their network from a central location, easily and effectively.

Copystar gives businesses the choice, on whether they need a 30 page per minute

device or a 25 page per minute device, without losing any of the features and

functionality that are normally found on more expensive high-end MFPs. Copystar also

designed the CS-3060 and the CS-2560 around Kyocera’s Long Life components,

making the CS-3060 and CS-2560 cost effective to operate and the ideal choice for the

any workgroup.

Standard Print and ScanOne of the most important advancements in the

Office Equipment industry has been the

combination of multiple office machines into a

single multi-functional device. At one time, an

office may have required a fax machine, copier,

scanner, and a printer. Each of these machines

took up space in the office and each required

individual service agreements. With the

development of the MFP, all of these functions

are consolidated into a single product, reducing

the amount of equipment that is necessary to

perform these individual tasks. The MFP also

has additional features and functions that are

not available with most of the single function

devices. With the benefits that the digital MFP

provides, customers are able to realize

improved productivity at a much lower cost.

The CS-3060 and CS-2560 offers standard

Network Printing, Color Scanning and Optional

Fax/Network Fax/Internet Fax, in addition to

traditional copy functionality. In today’s

connected world, customers are looking for a

manufacturer who can provide them with a

standard feature set that meet the needs of their

office. With the key features, options and

reliability Copystar provides with these products,

the CS-3060 and CS-2560 will most certainly

improve the productivity of any environment and

are products that the small to mid-size business

can depend on.

Single Board ArchitectureThe new CS-3060 and CS-2560 continues to

build on the single board controller that was

introduced with the Falcon III MFPs. This single

board architecture provides a single connection

for both printing and network scanning. With

previous designs, two separate IP (Internet

Protocol) addresses were required for print and

scan. This can be an obstacle where IT

departments closely manage IP addresses,

control the placements of hubs, and in the small

business where multiple network drops may not

be available for installation.

Color ScanningIn addition to Standard Network Color Send

functionality, the new CS-3060 and CS-2560

also has the ability to scan in color and

monochrome. With the ability to scan in color,

the CS-3060 and the CS-2560 have a distinct

competitive advantage over some the other

competitors’ product in today’s market. The

CS-3060 and the CS-2560 with its color scan

capability from a monochrome MFP will allow

small to mid-size businesses to integrate the

scanning process of their color or black and

white documents into a more cost effective

solution.

With the CS-3060 and the CS-2560 color scan

capabilities, these products can be integrated

with the KYOcapture Suite of Document

Solution for businesses interested in converting

the paper-based document workflow of their

workgroup into a digital document workflow.

for businesses wanting to preserve the integrity

of the color documents.

Expanded / Shared Memory ResourcesThe new CS-3060 and CS-2560 utilize shared

memory resources for Print, Send and Copy.

The CS-3060 and CS-2560 are configured with

512MB Standard RAM (Random Access

Memory), and are upgradable to 1GB. These

new MFPs also come standard with a large

80GB HDD for Document Printing and

Copystar’s Document Box.


Document BoxIn order to improve the productivity and

performance of the small to mid-size business

workgroup environment, it is important to

consolidate the management of a variety of

documents, including scanned images of hard

copy originals, and electronic documents. The

ability to share these documents amongst

multiple users and storing

these documents in a

secure central location is

vital to the productivity of

any workgroup.

With Document Box, users can save scanned

or printed documents to a specified Box in the

MFP 80GB HDD. User can access the

documents stored in the CS-3060 or the

CS-2560 Document Box from the control panel

or from the desktop. The Color TSI of the

CS-3060 and the CS-2560 offers an image of

the first page for proof checking to ensure that

the right document is being accessed.

Color Touch Screen Interface (TSI)Copystar designed the CS-3060 and the

CS-2560 so that the user can navigate through

the different menus on the MFP Color Touch

Screen Interface (TSI) quickly and easily.

The Color TSI for the CS-3060 and the

CS-2560 is very intuitive, has an easy to view

color display and improved icons that assist the

user with their document output requirements.

The Color TSI incorporates a tabbed

architecture, similar to file folders, so users can

easily find the features they require for creating

professional looking documents every time.

The Color TSI is positioned on a control panel

that can be adjusted and is Section 508

Compliant.

Network AuthenticationFor any Workgroup or Enterprise, protecting

network integrity is a key concern. Many of the

markets you will prospect will require Network

Authentication on any MFP that is connected to

the network.

The CS-3060 and CS-2560 provide standard

Network Authentication, using NTLM

(Windows® NT) or KERBEROS (Server

2000/2003). With Network Authentication active,

users will be required to login to the MFP using

their unique network ID and password.

Document BoxDocument Box is an integrated storage/sharing

solution utilizing the standard 80GB Hard Disk

Drive (HDD). With Document Box, users will be

able to print critical documents quickly, directly

from the Color TSI.

Multi Tasking FunctionsWorkgroup users typically engage in a variety

of document processes. These include the use

of copying, printing, scanning and faxing. By

introducing the CS-3060 or CS-2560 into

enabled to process multiple jobs

simultaneously with the Multi Task Multi

Multi Send FunctionsWith Multi Send, the new CS-3060 and

CS-2560 can send documents to different

destinations from a single scan, greatly

Multi Send provides users with the ability to

50 Job ProgramsMost devices in the market have limited

functionality when using Job Programming.

The CS-3060 and CS-2560 capitalize in a

Single Board Architecture and provide up to 50

Job Programs for both Copy and Send

Panel.

Color Wide Touch Screen InterfaceThe first new feature you will come upon is the

New Color Touch Screen Interface. This is a key

improvement over previous segment 2 MFPs

that provided a menu driven interface. Your

clients will find that the Color TSI are easier to

navigate and simpler to use over traditional

control panels. The CS-3060 and

CS-2560, the Color TSI features a Thumbnail

Viewer and improved Icons for most features.

Advanced Help Key / Help GuidanceIn addition to the obvious improvements, the

CS-3060 and CS-2560 Operation Panel

includes a Help Key / Help Guidance function

for on-board assistance with product features,

as well as the occasional misfeed or service

issue. This a clear benefit to users who would

like to use all of the time saving features that

the

CS-3060 and CS-2560 have to offer, but are

not

sure how to use them

Operation Status LEDA device that stops working due to a misfeed

or other issues can affect all users who rely on

a centralized MFP for the Print, Send and

Copy needs. With this in mind, the new

CS-3060 and CS-2560 were designed with

Operation Status LEDs that provide the user

with the ability to see the status of the device

from a distance.

USB Host InterfaceThe innovative USB Host Interface is a feature

that will be a benefit to Performance, Ease of

Use or Security. Located directly on the right

side the USB Host Interface allows users to

print PDF data stored on a common USB

“flash drive” quickly, efficiently and securely.

When printing PDF documents the user

simply plugs in their USB flash drive into the

USB Host Interface. The Removable Memory

Box feature will then display all the PDF files

located on the root of the USB flash drive. The

user can then select the PDF document and

the desired document/page attributes such as

duplex and finishing when printing the PDF

document from the USB flash drive. Since the

PDF file prints directly from the USB flash

drive to the MFP, there is no residual data that

remains on the MFP, assuring that any PDF

document that is printed

remains secure and

confidential.

Improved Paper CassettesThe CS-3060 and the CS-2560 are the first MFPs

in Copystar’s product line to in corporate the new

Top/Bottom handle design The new handles are

designed so users can unlock the cassettes using

either an over or under hand grip and are Section

508 compliant.

SecurityThe CS-3060 and the CS-2560 comes standard

with Network Authentication that supports

Windows® NT and Server 2000/2003

environments, assuring IT administrators that this

device will comply with their company’s network

login security implementations. Administrators also

have the option to set and manage Local

Authentication at the device level when Network

Authentication is not required.

HDD Overwrite / EncryptionCompanies focusing on compliance and security

Data Security Kit (C) uses a three level overwriting

method to erase any information that is stored in

the hard disk drive during Copy, Print, and Send

functions. With the Encryption included in the

process, all confidential documents saved in the

80GB HDD will be securely stored, allowing

workgroups and departments to adhere to

the strict guidelines in place today such as

Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), HIPPA or other

federal government mandates.

Data Security Kit (C) will undergo evaluation

for ISO 15408 Certification after launch.

IP FilteringFor IT management and administration, the

new CS-3060 and CS-2560 supports IP

Filtering, allowing administrators to

designate, by IP segment, individual

assignments to prevent unauthorized usage

and ensure network security.

Security Watermark (KX Driver)One of the features available for the

KX Driver is the Security Watermark feature

that can be used in conjunction with the new

CS-3060 and CS-2560 MFPs.

The KX Driver Security Watermark places a

faint watermarked image in the background

of the original printed document, similar to

any other watermark. When this original

document is copied, this watermark and the

background are printed.

ControllerThe CS-3060 and CS-2560 utilize Copystar’s

Single Board Architecture and a single Network

Interface (NIC). This single board controller

features an embedded PowerPC® RISC

processing chip, delivering high performance for

any customer’s printing environment.

The CPU of the controller has a ‘clock speed” of

400MHz (MegaHertz), which is very competitive

for MFPs in this range. Most competitive MFPs

top out at 500MHz, with a few in the 300MHz

range. Faster clock speeds provides faster

processing times of documents, improving the

overall efficiency of the device, and inevitably,

the company’s workload.

Document OutputWith output speeds of up to 30 pages per

minute, 600 x 600 dpi and 256 levels of

grayscale, the CS-3060 and the CS-2560 can

Page Description Languages (PDLs)Page Description Languages or PDLs are the

embedded command sets that a printer

understands for document output. The most

common PDLs in an office environment will be

PCL (Printer Control Language) or PostScript.The new Copystar Workgroup MFPs support

both of these PDLs, as well as other PDLs that

will often be found in environments, such as

back-office or mainframe printing.

Copystar’s ability to emulate a variety of PDLs

provides our products with a significant

advantage in any environment that requires

integration with operating systems beyond a

typical Windows® model. Companies with

Macs, Linux systems or running UNIX will find

that Copystar is a critical choice to solve their

printing issues.

PCL XL is an extended PCL language based

on PCL 6 and 5e, that supports advanced

printer features, and is device dependent.

Documents printed using PCL language are

usually general office documents created in

popular office programs. Printing documents

with PCL sends the data from the application

with the print commands for page layout and

output is dependent on the device.

PostScript is a PDL most commonly used with

desktop publishing software, though it can be

used for office applications as well. PostScript

is device independent and utilizes a PPD

(PostScript Printer Definition) to output pages.

The PPD sets the page layout without any

device requirements, so documents can be

printed from one device to the next without any

issues. Copystar provides a PostScript

emulation called KPDL3 with our devices as

standard.

Windows® 64-bit DriversMicrosoft’s launch of 64-bit versions of

Windows® XP and Server 2003 has provided a

platform for greater scalability and improved

performance. Positioned as an alternative to

UNIX, 64-bit computing is becoming a force in

Corporate America. Copystar has responded to

this change in the market by releasing our own

Windows® 64-bit Drivers for our products,

including the new CS-3060 and CS-2560 MFPs.

These new 64-bit Drivers are available for PCL

or PostScript, enabling IT to deploy drivers

designed for their OS of choice to the users on

the network.

Windows® VistaWith the release of Windows Vista, many

companies are taking advantage of all of the

latest technology that Microsoft® has to offer. To

meet the demand for printer drivers that will be

compatible with Vista, Copystar has created the

KX Driver for Vista that will enabling businesses

PPDs for MacintoshWhile Apple Macintosh® computers will be a

our print controller on these new models is the

ability to integrate in both Linux and UNIX

environments. Both the Linux open source and

UNIX architectures utilize a PostScript Printer

Definition to enable printing.

UNIX Print System) PPD is recommended:

DP-670 Reversing Automatic Document

originals per minute (OPM) at 300 dpi in

Monochrome mode, 30 OPM at 400/600 dpi

in monochrome mode and 15 OPM in Color

mode. The DP-670 can hold up to 75 Letter-

size originals, maximizing productivity for

scanning applications.


Multi Send FunctionThe ability to send a document to multiple

locations simultaneously from a single device is

one of the key features of the CS-3060 and the

CS-2560. The ability to send a document to

multiple locations from a single scan will

increase the productivity of any small to mid-size

File Separation allows users to scan a stack of

documents directly from the Document

Processor and deliver the documents as

individual files. This is especially useful when

documents like invoices and bills of lading are

scanned.

Continuous Scan lets users scan more pages

than the Document Processor is capable of

holding, or add scanned pages from directly off

the glass for inclusion inside a scanned

document. This is incredibly valuable to the

Legal, Financial and Healthcare markets, who

may require information from statutes or laws

from bound books in the document they are

scanning.

File Name Entry allows users to name the

document at the time it is scanned. This avoids

confusion, especially when documents are

scanned to an FTP or Network folder. File

names can be up to 30 characters long.

Additional information, such as Date & Time and

Job Number can also be input.

Job Finish Notice provides a message via e-

Mail or network notification when a large job has

been completed in Send Mode.

e-Mail Subject/Body allows users to customize

a message during the Scan to e-Mail process.

This ability assists in the delivery of documents

that may otherwise be trapped in an e-Mail

Servers spam filter*.

With this feature, an e-Mail Subject line can be

set up to 60 characters, and Body text can be

added up to 500 characters. Copystar does not make any claims or guarantees that the e-Mail

Subject/Body feature will allow users to bypass corporate e-Mails

filters and protocols.

Send and Print allows user to send

documents to multiple location and output

hardcopies simultaneously. With the Send and

Print function, users will no longer have to wait

for the MFP to complete the printing task

before enabling sending task. This is an

indispensable feature especially if the

CS-3060 or the CS-2560 is being used as

network shared printer to accommodate the

printing needs of the workgroup.

Send and Store like Send and Print, Send

and Store allow users to perform multiple tasks

simultaneously. With Send and Store, users

can send documents to multiple destinations

and store the scanned data in the Document

Box at the same time. The Send and Store

feature is a value add for any workgroup that is

planning to share the send capabilities that

come standard with the MFP and would like to

store the scanned images they send in the

Document Box without having to wait for send

function to complete before using the store

To simplify the office copying, the Quick Setup

tab can be customized with up to six (6) feature

buttons. These buttons can also be arranged in

any order, determined when the features are

registered.

Another improved feature is the ability to

create Shortcut Keys on the main screen for

often used features. With previous models,

only three Shortcuts could be registered. With

the new CS-3060 and CS-2560 models, up to

six Shortcuts can be registered in Copy Mode.

The Touch Screen keyboard can be set to the

following choices:

• QWERTY

• QWERTZ

• AZERTY

Depending on the company’s natural language

preference, the keyboard can be set so it best

fits their environment.


The new larger full Color TSI has 800 x 480 dot

resolution,and an increased size of 8 1/2 inches.

In addition to the Color LCD, the Control Panel

also features LEDs for specific functions and

messages on the panel.

Control PanelIn addition to the Color TSI, the Control Panel

has been updated with new Function and

Application hard keys, display LEDs and keypad

area.

New Function/Application KeysThe left side of the Control Panel provides

access for:

• Copy Mode

• Send Mode

• Document Box

• Status

• Program

• Application

Although the Copy, Send and Document Box are

important hard key function these hard keys are

pretty self-explanatory, what will be explained in

greater detail are, the Status, Program and

Application hard keys.

Status shows the status of all activity, including

Printing. From the Status key, pending job

information, as well as job logs can be

accessed.

The Program key provides access to Copystar’s

unique 50 Job Programs that are stored. These

Job Programs can be set for both Copy and

Send modes, raising the bar on office

performance and ease of use.

The last key is for Application. Pressing this

button allows users to access the optional

KYOcapture Express, iTag and KYOcapture

Solutions when available. This key will also be

used for future functionality of these models.

System Menu / CounterThe System Menu key provides access to the

setup and configuration of the MFPs, including

default settings for Copy, Send and Document

Box, customizing the Color TSI, network

settings, language and other features that

each user may wish to change. The System

Menu can be “locked” by an Administrator

directly from the Kyocera Command Center

web interface, so once the appropriate settings

have been made, they can only be changed

by authorized personnel.

The Counter key displays the individual

counters (Copy/Print/Scan/Fax) that have

been printed and scanned This data can also

be printed directly from the TSI on the MFP

Status Page.


System LEDsThe System LEDs are positioned directly above

the Color TSI, and display when print data is

being received, an incoming fax or scanned

image is being transmitted, a fax is being

received, when the memory buffer is executing,

or a system error has occurred.

Control Panel KeypadTo the right of the Color TSI is the 0-9 Keypad

area, which includes the Start and Stop buttons,

a button to clear data entered incorrectly, and a

manual reset allowing users to reset the

defaults.

In addition, a new animated Help key, with a ‘?’

icon provides graphic Help guidance for virtually

all the features of the MFPs, simplifying end

user’s interaction with the devices, and providing

a complete tutorial to allow users to utilize the

CS-3060 and CS-2560 to the fullest.

Accessibility Display ButtonThe Accessibility Display Button increases

the magnification of the Color TSI making it

easier for users with impaired vision to see the

different features they wish to utilize when

working with the MFP. The AccessibilityDisplay Button is another feature that makes

the CS-3060 and the CS-2560 user friendly

and is also 508 Compliant.

Job Finish Notice provides a message via

Small to mid-size businesses can utilize the

Document Box function when workgroups require

immediate access to information from a centralized

manage point. With the standard 80GB HDD

workgroups can store jobs temporarily for up to

seven days using one of the Document Box

functions. The retention time can be set to fit the

requirements of the workgroup as needed.

Although documents may remain in the MFP’s

HDD indefinitely, data can be lost if an issue arises,

so workgroups should only use the Document Box

as a temporary storage device.

One of the strong product features of the

Document Box is the various functions built within

the system. Document Box includes four distinct

types of boxes, each with a different purpose and

potential use.

CUSTOM BOXWith the CUSTOM BOX feature, workgroups can

register users and the user can temporarily store

documents in the CS-3060 or CS-2560 80GB

HDD. This is very useful when a document

containing a large number of pages needs to be

repeatedly printed. Users can store this document

in their assigned CUSTOM BOX and print the

document as my times as needed and select the

number of copies they require. Users who are

register individually can use the User Box for

secure printing and can save images that they

have scanned as well

JOB BOXWhen a particular application such as Repeat

Copy or Private Print is selected, Job Box is used

to store and output that specific job. Job Box also

supports Job retention mode, which is HP

compatible.

REMOVABLE MEMORY BOXThe Removable Memory Box feature, allow

users to print PDF documents directly from a

USB flash drive to the CS-3060 or the CS-2560,

providing companies with the portability and

security for the confidential documents they wish

to print.

FAX BOX The Fax Box can save fax documents, which are

received by facsimile communication. The Fax

Box can also be used for F-code Subaddress

confidential reception. (Fax option required).

New and Improved Fax CapabilitiesThe CS-3060 and CS-2560 provide any

connected workgroup to all of the fax features on

these new models, including Network Faxing and

Internet Fax.

For the small to mid-size business, the ability to

fax directly from the desktop will result in,

increased productivity. Considering that most

documents are created at the desktop, the ability

to send a fax directly from the PC eliminates the

need to print the document first. The CS-3060

and the CS-2560 can also receive incoming

faxes and route the fax to the appropriate

network shared folder.

Access to the optional Fax Functions on the new

CS-3060 and CS-2560 are available under the

Send screen on the TSI.


Internet FaxAnother advantage of the CS-3060 and the

CS-2560 is the ability to fax via the internet. The

Fax System (M) will allow business to utilize

their network for sending and receiving faxes

using their existing TCP/IP connection. With

internet fax, users can send faxes to fax

server/gateway or any other device that allows

the reception of internet faxes. The benefit of

sending faxes via the internet is that there is no

software to install; customers do not need a

dedicated telephone line and customer will not

incur any long distance charges when sending

faxes outside their area code.

KM Network Fax DriverThe process of sending a document from the

desktop requires the KM Network Fax Driver,

which installs locally in the PC Printer Folder.

Users electing to PC Fax would access this Fax

Driver in the same manner as printing a

document, so training to use the KM Network

Fax Driver is kept at a minimum.

The KM Network Fax driver is fairly simple,

giving the user control over the media size, page

direction and imaging mode details.

Once the command to PC Fax has been

selected using the “OK” button, the job spools to

the local queue and the Transmission Control

dialogue box appears. Transmission Control is

where all of the necessary TX settings are

selected.

Destination AddressesFax destinations are set once the

Transmission Control TX Settings appear.

These addresses can be set manually as

needed.

Consolidated Address BookThe Consolidated Address Book located at the

device level is for Send Functionality, namely

Scan and Fax. The Consolidated Address

Book allows for businesses to store up to

2,000 destinations with e-Mail destinations or

Fax numbers. Combined with the standard

LDAP for Scan to e-Mail function, the

CS-3060 and CS-2560 provide a strong

competitive advantage for any small

workgroup.

500 x 2 Universal Paper Drawer (PF-670)For companies that require the flexibility, the PF-670

Dual Paper Drawers can be added. The PF-670

offers a 500 x 2 configuration that can accept paper

sizes from statement to ledger (5 ½” x 11 to 11 x 17”).

Paper weights from 16 to 32lb. Bond are accepted.

With the PF-670 installed, the paper capacity of the

CS-3060 and CS-2560 is increased from 1,200

sheets to 2,200 sheets from five sources. With the

ability to run sizes from statement to ledger,

workgroups in the financial or legal markets will find

this configuration beneficial,. making the CS-3060

and the CS-2560 competitive products in these

markets.

Finishing / Output OptionsThe CS-3060 and CS-2560 can be installed in

customer environments where document finishing is

a requirement. The CS-3060 and CS-2560 offer both

an internal finisher for space saving convince as well

as a 1,000 sheet finisher with stapling features.

1,000 Sheet Single Staple Finisher (DF-730)For customers that have basic finishing

requirements, the CS-3060 and CS-2560 can be

configured with the DF-730 1,000 sheet finisher. The

DF-730 can add a single staple to up to 30 sheets

letter or 20 sheets legal and ledger sizes.

Internal Finisher (DF-670)If space is an issue and finishing is required, the

CS-3060 and CS-2560 can be configured with the

DF-670 Internal Finisher. The finisher is installed in

the open space below the control panel and can

staple 30 sheets of 8 ½” x 11”, and 20 sheets of 8 ½”

x 14 and 11” x 17” sizes. Up to 500 sheets (Letter)

can be stacked using the DF-670.

Job Separator (JS-670)The JS-670 Job Separator can also be installed below

the control panel of the CS-3060 and CS-2560. This

option provides users with the ability to direct specific

job type, like faxes to a designated holding area. This

will allow users to differentiate between different job

types. The JS-670 can stack up to 100 sheets of

paper.

Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (DP-670)The CS-3060 and CS-2560 can be configured with an

optional DP-670 Reversing Automatic Document

Feeder. With simplex scanning speeds for both

models of 50 PPM at 300 DPI in monochrome and 15

PPM Color, the CS-3060 and CS-2560 are excellent

candidates for small workgroup scanning functions.

The DP-670 can handle up to 75 originals with paper

weights ranging from 16 lb to 60 lb paper in simplex

mode, and 18 lb to 45 lb in duplex mode. The DP-670

is also Section 508 compliant with the ability to limit its

opening to 60 degrees, or fully open at 15 degrees.

UG-30 PDF Enhancement KitThe UG-30 PDF Expansion Kit consists of two

components:

The UG-30 option comes complete with a USB

Flash Drive that is installed in one of the USB

ports on the single board controller. Each

UG-30 kit has a unique serial number, and can

only be installed with a single MFP. Companies

who have special requirements for document

transmission or archival may find the UG-30

option very valuable.

PDF CompressionThe PDF Compression component is an

advantage for companies looking to utilize the

standard Color Scanning on the CS-3060 and

CS-2560. With Copystar’s new PDF

Compression, the text and photo (or image)

areas of a scanned document are divided, and

a suitable image compression is applied. File

sizes can be reduced for document storage in

a network folder.

Note: With PDF Compression turned on, scanned

images no longer have the best image quality for

document output.

PDF EncryptionFor companies interested in a high level of

document security when scanning, PDF

Encryption allows users to set a PDF

password at the Control Panel. Once the

document reaches the intended destination,

the password is required, maintaining the

integrity of the document from anyone not

authorized to access the PDF. Note: PDF Encryption supports 128bit encryptionfor Acrobat 5.0 and later and 40bit encryption forAcrobat 3.0 or later.

Long Life TechnologyThe CS-3060 and the CS-2560 like all of the

Copystar’s products incorporates the long life

consumables, industry leading yields, and

preventive maintenance making the CS-3060

and the CS-2560 a real benefit for the small to

DrumThe CS-3060 and the CS-2560 utilize

Copystar’s Amorphous Silicon (ASi) Drum for

imaging. By including the ASi Drum, Copystar

can manufacture products that have higher

drum yields when compared to other

manufactures’ products in the same segment.

Monocomponent TonerThe CS-3060 and the CS-2560 are

Monocomponent products so no developer

needs to be added between Preventive

Maintenance schedules, as is the case with

some of the competitive dual component

models. Monocomponent Technology is

beneficial to the customer, since the image

printed on the page does not degrade over time

with developer depletion during normal imaging.

Customers with the new CS-3060 and the

CS-2560 only need to replace toner when

required, simplifying the interaction with these

MFP’s. Toner replacement is a straightforward

process, with the sealed toner container

accessed from the front. The toner container

slides easily into the space just above the

engine quickly and without any mess.

The Toner Container for the CS-3060 and the

CS-2560 is exclusive for the MFPs and cannot

be interchanged with printer toner. The rated

yield for the toner used by the CS-3060 and

the CS-2560 is 20,000 impressions based on

a 6% fill ratio.

The TK-677 Toner Container will have an

embedded Radio Frequency Identification

(RFID) chip to ensure that customer’s use the

proper toner for these products.

Preventive MaintenancePreventive Maintenance or PM is the interval

determined for the Maintenance Kit

replacements, and is set to identify when these

replacement are necessary to ensure the MFP

is working up to manufacturer specifications.

During the PM for the CS-3060 and the

CS-2560, the only item that is replaced is the

maintenance kit, which consists of the drum

assembly, developer assembly, fixing unit,

transfer assembly and miscellaneous feed

rollers. By providing all of the required parts in

one kit, Service Technicians can perform a PM

very quickly, with the whole process taking

between 20 to 30 minutes. Customers

requiring a PM at the appropriate intervals will

be up and running quickly, minimizing

downtime.
