    4. Ink ribbon replacement

    1. Remove the paper roll from the calculator. (Tear the paper and

    remove it from the print mechanism by usingg.)

    2. Set the power switch to OFF.

    Make sure that the print wheel has stopped.

    3. Remove the printer cover by sliding it towards the back of thecalculator. (Fig. 1)

    4. To remove the used ribbon, press the lever towards the center

    and lift the reels.

    5. To install the new ribbon, move the lever to the far left.

    6. With the black side of the ribbon facing upwards, place one of

    the reels on the reel shaft on the right. (Fig. 2)

    Make sure that the reel is securely in place.

    7. Thread the ribbon around the outside of the metal guides.

    (Fig. 3)

    8. Move the lever to the right and insert the left hand reel securely.

    9. Take up any slack by manually turning one of the reels.

    10. Replace the cover.

    11. Replace the paper roll.

    5. Paper roll replacement

    1. Lift the paper holder up. (Fig. 1)

    2. Fold the leading edge of the paper roll 3 to 5 cm.(Do not fold it slantwise.) (Fig. 2)

    3. Insert the paper roll from the left side of the paper holder andmake sure the paper roll is set in the proper direction (with thepaper feeding from the bottom). (Fig. 3)

    4. Insert the leading edge of the paper into the opening directlybehind the print mechanism. (Fig. 4)

    5. Press the paper feed key and feed the paper under the edge ofthe paper cutter. (Fig. 5)

    6. Servicing

    (1) Upper case

    For the 12-digit model, cut the section below with cutters:

    (2) Attach the prevention rubber to the displaytube.

    (3) Apply grease to the upper case key hole.

    Grease application to one position: f keys only

    Grease application to two positions: 0, *, # /g (6Positions in total)

    (6) Insertion of SL-SW roller into the shaft

    * When inserting the assy into the SL-SW slider, allow a clearancebetween the rib and the SL-SW roller. (Refer to the figure above.)

    (7) Membrane sheet insertion into connector insertin the procedure shown below.

    * Completely insert the sheet without clearance.

    Note for servicing

    The PWB unit is not supplied as a service parts.

    In case of any trouble in the PWB, replace the whole set.
