Introduction

▪ PVC-U-made fittings for PVC pipe unions▪ Any fluid distribution network can be designed by combining these fittings properly.▪ Unions:- Solvent cemented unions. The most common type of union. Glued pipes and fittings have male-female connections. The union is made by using a PVC adhesive which, correctly applied on the indicated areas, provides the system with a real cold-soldered joint. This kind of union improves the system’s tensile strength. - Rubber ring joint unions. The female end of the pipe/fitting is designed to lodge an elastic ring that ensures the system’s water-tightness. Assemblies are quick, easy and allow some direction variations. - Threaded unions (with or without reinforcement)- Adaptor unions (different kind of unions combined in one fitting)

Introduction: function of the fittings

CAP/BUSH. They close blind-ended ramifications

FLANGES. They allow pipe unions and adding of fluid conduction mechanisms to the system

CLAMP SADDLES. Used to add water-intakes from the main distribution network to the new system

UNION SOCKETS. They join pipe sections

REDUCTIONS. They join pipes with different diameters

PIPE CLIPS. Fixation components used to fix pipes (to the ground, wall…) in non-buried installations

TEES. Used for conduction derivations

ELBOWS & CURVES. They join pipe sections and allow changes in direction and inclinations of the system (45º, 90º)


▪ They are the required items in order to make it possible to extend, connect, redirector derive pipes. These are the most common ones:

Introduction: PVC pipes

▪ The use of PVC piping has gotten more and more common in any type of fluid distribution installation. This is mainly due to their:

- Low cost- High resistance- Light weight- Simple and easy connections

▪ It is recommended not to build any PVC installation in the outside because of the material’s low resistance to sunlight. The protection of the PVC piping can be ensured by using special UV-resistant paints or by just burying the whole insallation.

▪ Standards :- Glued PVC fittings: EN 1452-3 standard- PVC pipes EN 1452-2 standard

▪ Glued: clean pipe and fitting, apply adhesive with a brush, join longitudinally fitting and pipe and do not touch nor move during the established drying time. • Calculate deformations and install taking in account coefficients and ambient temperature. • Screwed: to ensure water-tightness, use Teflon tape.• Detailed instructions can be found in the technical catalogue.
