TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Burnaby Branch of CTBC Bank Corp. (Canada) opened on April 18 after its relocation to a larger office in order to provide more convenient and better service to local residents. The branch outgrew its old office as the number of Chinese-speaking immigrants to Canada continues to grow rapidly. The new office in Burnaby's financial district of Kingsway offers more space and a better location for the bank to provide more robust services. The opening ceremony on April 18 was attended by dignitaries including Richard Lee and Kathy Corrigan, members of British Columbia's Legislative Assembly, Burnaby Mayor
Derek Corrigan, Lee Chih-chiang (李志強), director-general of the Taipei Economic and
Cultural Office in Vancouver, Koo Lin Jui-hui (辜林瑞慧), wife of the late CTBC Group
founder Jeffrey Koo Sr. (辜濂松) and Peter Liu (劉景中), chairman of CTBC Bank Corp.
(Canada). Headquartered in Vancouver, CTBC Bank Corp. (Canada) was founded in 1999 to provide comprehensive commercial banking services to local residents.
