Curtin University Alumni Chapter Indonesia (CUACI) Seminar: The Future of Techno-preneurship CUACI News CUACI organised a seminar on the topic of digital techno-preneurship in Jakarta on 14 December 2019. This seminar delivered facts and figures as well as industry trends for CUACI members and the public at large, in order to broaden the audience’s horizon on the stifling competition and juggling the ever-surging demands of users and investors alike. As part of CUACI’s initiatives, this seminar had been organized and conducted for free both for CUACI members as well as the public. The event was attended by over 100 participants and became a new vehicle for CUACI to raise funds by selling the CUACI batik and pin and recruiting new members. In Indonesia, some have seen the fruit of their labor being upgraded from unicorn to decacorn. Companies such as Gojek, Tokopedia, and Traveloka are some examples of such success. However, whilst being a techno-preneur takes a whole lot of gut and gambit; the CEO and Founders must also be highly attuned to commercial values in order to sustain the business in this never-ending marathon. CUACI had seen its fair share of enthusiastic Millennials seeking to make it on the list of next decacorns. Little did they know that the shiing paradigm of online digital industry investments had moved from that of aggressive money burning to one which supports sustainable business preferably with multiple revenue streams. Topics covered in this seminar included the Shiof Paradigm in Business & Marketing Strategies (presented by Mr. Suryanto Gobeawan, CEO and Founder WallaWilli), Proptech for Property Monetization (presented by Dr. Rahayu Puspasari, Director of Lembaga Manajemen Aset Negara/ LMAN), The Rise & Fall of Start-ups (presented by Dr. Patria Laksmana, Lecturer of Perbanas University), and Content Strategy & Copywriting, Branding through Video, and SEO/SEM (presented by Mr. Aidil Wicaksono, Google Gapura, CEO and Founder Kaizen Room). The Future of Techno-preneurship

CUACI News

CUACI organised a seminar on the topic of digital techno-preneurship in Jakarta on 14 December 2019.

Topics covered in this seminar included the Shi of Paradigm in Business & Marketing Strategies (presented by Mr. Suryanto Gobeawan, CEO and Founder WallaWilli), Proptech for Property Monetization (presented by Dr. Rahayu Puspasari, Director of Lembaga Manajemen Aset Negara/LMAN), The Rise & Fall of Start-ups (presented by Dr. Patria Laksmana, Lecturer of Perbanas University), and Content Strategy & Copywriting, Branding through Video, and SEO/SEM (presented by Mr. Aidil Wicaksono, Google Gapura, CEO and Founder Kaizen Room). This seminar is supported by Apiary co-working space and Gapura Digital.

Beyond expectations, the event was also attended by senior players in the digital technology sector

The effort of conceptualizing and executing the event amounts to the successful collaboration of CUACI Millennials (Christine Natasya, Maulana Malik, Nabila Advani, Faisal, Maria Cindy, Zatniko, Fathurahman, and Suryanto Gobeawan) grouped under Business & Management Study Area. Such collaborative effort has helped tremendously in forging and strengthening the bond of friendship between alumni of different countries and batches.
