DAY 2: HAVANA★ Breakfast at your homestay.

Introduction to Modern Havana: Meet with a historyprofessor at your homestay, who will talk about Cuban history,culture and Cuba’s future. Learn about how the Mafia shapedCuba and Havana. The professor will join you in a classic 1950scar tour of modern Havana, including a stop at the Paseo delPrado and a short walking tour near the Capitol and Theater ofthe Arts. Go by convertible car again to the National Hotel,where you’ll visit the Hall of Fame, drink a cocktail and finishthe history talk in the garden of the hotel.

Afro-Cuban Religion and Culture. Enjoy a special Afro-Cuban Event at thefamous “Callejón de Hamel” in Centro Habana. Callejon Hamel is a specialcommunity project born from the artist “Salvador” and his family. Guidedby a specialist of the callejon, you will have entrance to Salvador’s ownhouse, see his personal altars, his art gallery, and a special andunforgettable performance by dancers, with guidance on how to dancethe “rhumba”.

Introduction to Old Havana: After lunch we will continue our culturalimmersion with a walking tour of Old Havana, a part of town founded in

the 16th century and now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a guided walk through the Plaza Vieja, Plazas de Armas,Plaza San Francisco de Asis and Plaza de la Catedral, which is also near the famous Hemingway haunt Bodeguita del Medio.Have exchanges with the locals in what is nowadays like an incredible open-air museum of architecture, art and culture.Learn more about the history of the area while strolling along the narrow colonial streets and interacting with the Cubanpeople.

For the evening, werecommend dinner atrestaurant paladar “La DivinaPastora” followed by Havana’sfamous Cannon FiringCeremony from a historic andpicturesque fortification. Therewill be another opportunity toshop at the open-air marketnear the cannon firingceremony.

DAY 3: HAVANA

★ Breakfast at your homestay.

Visit the Havana Club Rum Museum. Learn the process of rum making and enjoy traditional live Cuban music in abeautiful and historic building in Old Havana. Talk about traditional Cuban music, the main instruments and the basicsteps of Son and Salsa rhythms. Learn how to make a “Mojito” cocktail.

For lunch we are happy to recommend one of our favorite paladars in Old Havana.

Visit the Museum of the Revolution in old Havana. Housed in the Presidential Palace of all the Cuban presidentsfrom Mario Garcia Menocal to Fulgencio Batista, the museum depicts Cuban history from the pre-Columbian era tothe present. The architecture is beautiful, with the interior decorated by Tiffany Studios including a replica of thePalace of Versailles Hall of Mirrors and a Carrara marble main staircase.

For the evening, we recommend having dinner at the “Buena Vista Social Club” show at La Taberna.

DAY 4: HAVANA & PINAR DEL RIO / VINALES★ Early breakfast at homestay.

Board private transportation for a full day trip to the beautiful, mountainous province of Pinar del Rio. Thiswesternmost region of Cuba, located about 2 hours west of Havana, is known for its amazing valleys, landscapes andmountains. This is one of the Cuba’s most fertile areas and where some of the world’s best tobacco is grown,harvested, dried and processed. Some of the finest Cuban cigars are produced here, as well.

Visit a privately-owned tobacco farm to learn how this mainstay crop of Cuba is planted, harvested and prepared forshipping to tobacco factories to create the final product: Cuban cigars. You will have a personal guided tour by theowner, a “campesino”, who will explain the intricacies of growing tobacco from seeds to dried leaves ready to betaken to cigar factories.

Visit an authentic cigar factory in Pinar del Rio to see how the leaves are transformed into cohiba cigars. You willhave a very close interchange with more than 30 cigar rollers.

★ Lunch at the only Cuban Organicfarm paladar on the island, Finca deOrganica. This will be your best lunchof the trip due to the beautiful settingand views, warm and friendly service,and abundant, excellent food. Theworkers all belong to the same familyand will kindly explain what your “farmto table” meal is comprised of and willalso give you a tour of the farm so youcan see what they’re growing.

On the way back to Havana, stop by theMural de la Prehistoria, and amazing andphotogenic mural painted on the side ofa cliff/

Ernest Hemingway. Visit the Finca Vigia, where ErnestHemingway wrote his famous novel, The Old Man andthe Sea, and other works. The interior has remainedintact, as if Earnest has just left the house for a break inbetween writing sessions. Explore the village of Cojimar.This sleepy seaside village served as the setting for TheOld Man and the Sea. Meet today’s fisherman. See howthe locals live on a walking tour which also takes you tothe Hemingway statue. You will also be treated to acocktail in the restaurant, Las Terrazas, the preferredhangout of Hemingway.

★ Lunch. Your table is booked at a local paladar “CasaGrande”, which is known for very good seafood.

Visit the Art and Crafts Fair (San Jose Mercado), whereyou will be able to complete your souvenir shopping.
