DESCRIPTION
overview of Cuba's foreign relationsTRANSCRIPT
By Terry Onley
Cuba has formal relations with 160 nations, and supplies civilian assistance to 20 others, mostly medicalin nature. Many Cuban doctors are very willing to leaveCuba.
Perhaps that is is because many physicians in Cuba make as little as $30 a month…
The similar philosophies of José Martí and Simón Bolívarhave made Cuba and Venezuela close allies, both vigorouslyespousing the cause of Latin American freedom from USdomination. They have collaborated on several medical and other aid missions to various Latin American and Caribbean nations over the last decade, and share common ideals of good public health care, increasing literacy, and“actively pushing for a more humane economic and
social system”
Love at first sight…
Lots more love if you don’t publicly disagree with these guys, though…
Although the E.U. has serious humanitarian issueswith Castro’s regime, it maintains favorable trade relations with Cuba.
China, Russia, and Iran, among others, have goodrelations with Cuba. China and Russia are bothdiscussing the possibility of putting military basesin Cuba…
PS: Canada seems to like Cuba just fine…
