Bill,I was in a tournament match that was alternate break. I won the lag and chose to break rst. After the game was completed, my opponent racked the balls and I broke again not realizing that it should have been his break. I won that game. After the game wasover we both realized that he should have broke the last game. He said thHe said that the game did not count as he should have broken. What is the rule in that situation? Thanks, Jerry

Jerry, If it had been discovered during the game that your opponant should have broken the balls, the game would be stopped, the balls re-racked and your opponent would break. If the error is not discovered until after the game is completed then the results of the game are nal. If the procedure for breaking subsequent games of a match calls for alalternating breaks, and the incorrect player breaks a game and the error is discovered after the game is completed, the original order of the break in the following games shall remain as if no error occurred. It is the player’s responsibility to know when it’s their turn to break. Thanks, Bill
