DISCOVER HOW TO LEARNOur students learn to ask the right questions, try, make mistakes, try again, apply new knowledge and practice newskills. At every age, we emphasize hands-on experience instead of simply listening to a teacher’s explanation.

FOSTER SELF-CONFIDENT LEADERSPromoting positive interaction among students of differentages helps children build self-confidence, conflict resolutionand leadership skills. Younger students are motivated to “dowhat the big kids do.” Older students blossom as they take onage-appropriate leadership responsibilities.

FOLLOW A STEP-BY-STEP PATH TO LEARNINGWestwood’s path for learning is designed for each stage of achild’s development. Our teachers work closely with each childin our Lower School to identify and foster their natural inter-ests. This prepares older students to “excel in their studies andpersonal development”1 as part of Westwood’s InternationalBaccalaureate (IB) program.
