A suivre…
Bienvenue à l’AFK !
OPHELIE BELIN / Directrice
By the end of the monsoon Alliance française of Kathmandu offers not a raincoat and rain boots but a very cinematic cultural program. Every Thursday from September 4th we propose films in the morning and evening. There will even be a screening in our garden and a screenwriting workshop from 22 to 26 September.
But not only... Because we are also planning an evening of "games" on September 22th and the exhibition "Professions of the World", organized by the Alliance Française Foundation, will always be on display in the auditorium until September 26th .
But then, what's happening during the month of October? Well we must admit that it's the calm before the storm as we are preparing the 3rd edition of Planet Nepal, a Festival of Arts and Environment taking place on the 31st of October and on the 1st of November.
To be continued…
Welcome to AFK !

Because artists can suggest their vision of the world and be a critical vehicle for educating the public, because these major issues are now ubiquitous and are not solely the responsibility of scientists, it is extremely important that a festival such as Planet Nepal exists. This is also the same goal pursued by the Alliance française of Kathmandu and the French Embassy in Nepal when they organize every two years a multidisciplinary arts and environment festival.
In 2014, the Alliance française and the French Embassy decided to grab the opportunity of the international year of Family farming declared by the United Nations General Assembly. This worldwide celebration aims to become a tool to stimulate active policies for sustainable development of agricultural systems based on farmer families, communal units, indigenous groups, cooperatives, pastoralists and fishing families.
