    তিতিশ বছি তসংহপাসনে আসীে থেনক ২০১৯ সপানে, থবেচ্পায় অবসি গ্রহণ কিনেে জপাপপানেি প্পাক্তে সম্পাট আতকতহনিপা। সমপাপ্ত থহপাে িপাঁি সময়কপােনক তিতনিি কিপা থহইনসই যুগ। যুবিপাজ েপারুতহনিপা অতিতিক্ত হনেে জপাপপানেি পিবি্ী সম্পাট তহসপানব এবং শুরু থহপাে েিুে যুগ থিইওয়পা।

    ইতিহপানসি কপাজই থহপানেপা অিীিনক ধনি িপাখপা। তবতিন্ন দৃতটিনকপাণ থেনক িপাি পুঙ্পােুপুঙ্ তবনলেিণ কিপা। ইতিহপানসি পপািপায় েতেবদ্ধ থহইনসই অধ্পায় এখে থসই পয্পানেপািেপাি তবিয়বস্তু। থদনশি আি্ন্তিীে ও বতহতব্নবেি শপাতন্ত কপামেপা কনি েপামকিণ কিপা হনয়তছে থয যুনগি, বপাস্তনব থসই যুগ তবতিন্ন ঘটেপা প্বপানহ কিটপা সপাে্ক হনয়নছ মপােুনিি আশপাপূিণ কিপায় িপাি তহনসবতেনকশ কিনছ মপােুি।

    তবগি তিতিশ বছনি তববেপায়ে, অে্েীতিি উত্পাে পিে, তবজ্পাে ও প্যুতক্তি অগ্রগতি, সপাধপািণ মপােুনিি ব্তক্তগি জীবে ও সপামপাতজক জীবেনক েপােপািপানব প্িপাতবি কনিনছ। তবজ্পাে ও প্যুতক্তি অগ্রগতিনি মপােুনিি জীবনে সৃতটি হনয়নছ েিুে আশপা, আকপাঙ্পা। অপিতদনক তকছু তকছু সমস্পািও উদ্ভব হনয়নছ। বুদবুদ অে্েীতি থেনট যপাওয়পায় জপাপপানেি অে্েীতি, দীঘ্স্পায়ী থয মন্পাি কবনে আক্পান্ত হয়, িপাি প্িপানব অনেক পতিবি্ে এনসনছ জপাপপাতে সমপানজ মপােুনিি তিন্তপাধপািপায়। সপানবক জপাপপাতে প্তিষ্পানেি কম্ীনদি িপাকিীি তেিপাপত্পাি থয অতেতখি শি্ বহুতদে পয্ন্ত বেবৎ তছে, অে্নেতিক িপানপ মপােুি হপাতিনয় থেেে থসই তেিপাপত্পা। টনে থগে প্িতেি ব্বস্পাি উপি জপাপপাতেনদি আস্পা ও তেি্িশীেিপা। তিতকৎসপাশপান্রেি উন্নতিনি বৃতদ্ধ থপে মপােুনিি আয়ুষ্পাে, আবপাি একই সপানে জন্মহপানিি পিে জপাপপাতে সমপাজনক পতিণি কনি তদনয়নছ বনয়পাবৃদ্ধ সমপানজ। জন্ম তেে এক েিুে সমস্পা – বনয়পাবৃনদ্ধি থসবপাযননেি অে্নেতিক িপাপ ও থেপাকবনেি অিপাব। থহইনসই যুনগ জপাপপােী সমপাজনক মুনখপামুতখ হনি হনয়নছ আিও অনেক অেপাকপাতঙ্ি বপাস্তব সমস্পাি।

    থসইসব শুি অশুি পতিণতিি থপ্তষিনি থহইনসই যুগনক তবনলেিণ কিপাি প্নয়পাজে আনছ। থহইনসই যুগ সম্নক্ অে্নেতিক, ববজ্পাতেক, প্পাযুতক্তক এবং সপামপাতজক দৃতটিনকপাণ থেনক সুশীে সমপানজি ব্তক্তগি মূে্পায়ণতিতত্ক প্বন্ধ সংকেে এবপািকপাি অঞ্জতেি একতট মূখ্ তেনবদে।

    আমপানদি দুগ্পাপূজপাি থগপাড়পাপত্েও হয় থহইনসই যুনগি সূিেপা থেনক। থসই ঐতিহ্ বজপায় থিনখ তিতিশ বছি ধনি অেুতষ্ি হনয় িনেনছ আমপানদি দুনগ্পাৎসব। এই জপািীয় একপাতধক উৎসনবি মনধ্ তদনয় সংঘবদ্ধ হনয়নছ থিপাওতকনয়পাি িপািিীয় বপাঙপাতে। অঞ্জতে পতরিকপা থসই প্বপাসী িপািিীয় বপাঙ্পােী সমপানজি তিন্তপাধপািপা এবং সৃজেশীেিপা প্কপানশি একতট অনপশপাদপািী ষুিদ্র প্য়পাস। এতট মুখ্িঃ বপাঙপাতে সমপাজ দ্পািপা পতিিপাতেি হনেও এই পতরিকপায় সব্জেীেিপাি আনবদেনক তবনশি িপানব গুরুত্ব থদওয়পা হনয়নছ, যপাি প্তিেেে থদখনি পপাওয়পা যপায় পতরিকপাতটনি একপাতধক িপািপাি উপতস্তিি মনধ্ তদনয়।

    ২০১৯ সপানে আমপানদি সকনেি তপ্য় BATJ-ি দুজে সদস্, ইহনেপানকি মপায়পা ি্পাগ কনি অমৃিধপানম যপারিপা কনিনছে। এই পতরিকপায় িপাঁনদি উনদেনশ্ জপােপানেপা হনয়নছ তবনশি শ্রদ্ধপাঞ্জতে।

    মঙ্েদপাতয়েী মপা দুগ্পাি কপানছ সকনেি সুখ ও শপাতন্ত কপামেপা কতি। অঞ্জতেি সমস্ত পপাঠকনদি জপােপাই

    আমপানদি শপািদীয় শুনিচ্পা।

  • Editorial

    Heisei era began in 1989 with the ascension of Emperor Akihito to the throne of Japan. It continued for thirty years, and finally came to an end in 2019 following Emperor’s abdication. Soon after, crown prince Naruhito ascended to the throne making the start of new era - Reiwa. History is meant for recording the past. A recorded history gives an opportunity for detailed analysis of the past from all possible different perspectives. Well documented Heisei era thus has now become the subject of review. This era, as the name signifies began with the dream of establishing peace all over the world. Time has come when people can reflect on the past thirty years and try to understand if this era, under the influence of various events, could fulfil the wish of the dreamers.

    In last thirty years, globalization, economic ups and downs, astounding progress in science and technology have brought various changes in the lives of individuals and of the societies in general. Progress in science and technology has given new hopes and aspirations to human beings. On the other hand several unexpected problems have also surfaced up in recent years. With the burst of bubble economy amplified by the effects of long recessions, changes started happening in the way Japanese people used to think traditionally. With life time employment in Japan in its heydays, common people were all guaranteed for a settled life. All of a sudden they discovered that during economic slump, this was not true anymore. This gave a big blow to their confidence and dependences on the existing systems.

    Medical science on the other hand, through great deal of improvements in recent years has continuously increased life expectancy of people. However, with the drop of childbirth, Japanese society rapidly turned into a super aged society, which in turn posed a severe challenge of providing care to the elderly people, especially due to the lack of human resources. There are further examples which tell us that Japanese society encountered many unwelcoming challenges during Heisei period. There is a need to review Heisei period objectively. A compilation of essays based on personal opinion of the civil society reviewing Heisei period from the perspectives of economy, science and technology, is the main theme of this year’s Anjali.

    Our Durga puja was also started in the same year when Heisei era began. Since then, we have been organizing this event for last thirty years. This and many other similar events have helped us to act as a responsible organized community in Japan. Anjali, our annual publication is an amateurish effort to offer a forum for expressing our thoughts and creativities. This magazine is primarily managed by Bengalis living in Tokyo, yet a flavor of universality can be observed in its multi-lingual nature.

    In 2019, two of our dear BATJ members had left us for their heavenly abode. We have offered our tribute to both of them in special sections.

    We earnestly pray to Goddess Durga to shower her grace on all readers of Anjali, and let there be peace everywhere for all time to come.

    We are pleased to bring out our autumnal publication of Anjali on this auspicious occasion of Durga Puja celebration. Year 2019 marks the end of thirty years of Heisei era and beginning of new era Reiwa. In order to commemorate this major historical event within our limited scope, we decided to make a special section reviewing Heisei era from various viewpoints of the civil society. We are thankful to all contributors who have made it possible by their individual contribution.

    Anjali’s continuing success is made possible by the overwhelming support of many well-wishers. The Embassy of India in Tokyo extended their gracious support for which we are very thankful.
