A LETTER TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
We understand you may want your son or daughter to earn a degree so they get a great start to their
career. You want them to be safe, develop in their profession, be valued by their company and become
part of a business culture of inclusiveness, integrity and innovation. We do too.
Our emPowered Cummins Technician Apprentice Program is a comprehensive four-year program designed
to ensure that participants are provided the skills and experiences to work as a skilled technician not just across
North America, but anywhere in our global network. It is also designed to set the foundation for future career
choices. The college classes they complete are credits towards additional college degrees, and Cummins has
a process to support those studies too.
In addition to joining a Fortune 500 global company, emPowered participants earn an associate’s degree,
paid for entirely by Cummins. We believe in this program and the benefits it provides to both our company and
the participants, so once they join the program students also become paid, full-time employees with benefits.
If your child has a passion working with their hands, our program can help them develop and expand their
career choices. We’re looking for applicants who believe in the innovative work we’re doing and who are
excited to build a better tomorrow — for themselves and for Cummins.
