THE THEATREAT OUR SCHOOL

Currently in our school, drama activities are

not undertaken, but some years ago four

theatrical performances

by Shakespeare were made on the

scene with great success and enthusiasm.

The plays were performed by the students of the IV and V

class high school and they were coordinated by the English

teacher and other teachers of the school. The works were

properly adapted and performed entirely in English. This

project was done  by the students, who were responsable for

the costumes, music, choreography  and everything else that

was necessary for the success of the performance.

The last play acted out in our school was done

during the previous Comenius project,

in which the students of two classes were

involved.

The two classes staged Romeo

and Juliet, and even this was

acted out in English, to give

the students of the other

europen schol the opportunity

to understand the

performance.

Even local newspapers published

several articles on these activities,

highlighting the positive aspects.

And  descibing the commitment of

the stundents to the different

activities and the success they

obtained in the community.

Most of the students enjoyed

 participating in the preparation of

the performances  because it was

both a useful and fun experience.

Project

“INTERESSE SCALA”

The project "group interest Scala" in our school was founded in 1996. It was a project open to all students who wished to learn about the world of theatre. With this purpose in mind , some teachers organized lessons to deepen the students’ knowledge of plays that were then performed at “La Scala”theatre in Milan. The students were then fortunate enough to wach them live.

Students who participated in each

year were always very numerous

and it was possible to continue this

initiative until 2007.

Students were able to attend, among other performances:Il trovatore (Giuseppe Verdi)Madama Butterfly (Giacomo Puccini)Romeo e Giulietta (Sergej Prokofiev)
