Australians in Vietnam

The Vietnam War was the longest major conflict in which Australians were involved. Australians first sent troops to Vietnam in 1962. By 1968, as Australian forces rose to over 8000, opposition to conscription led to huge public protests. Australian forces withdrew in 1972, with a ceasefire signed in 1973.


Causes of World War I - What Caused the Great War?

This program investigates the causes of the Great War, by examining the three “isms” – militarism, nationalism and imperialism. Other factors that are considered include the Alliance system, the fall of Bismarckian Diplomacy, the July Crisis and the Schlieffen Plan.
