FUNDING-TEACHING
Grant in Kind: I. L. Mullins worked with Mr. Daniel Coursey at Coursey Enterprises to provide
the students in the Radford University School of Nursing skill packs of supplies used in the
nursing skills lab in the Nursing Therapeutics Adult I Courses. The company provided free
faculty skill packs ($214.00 each) each semester (Fall and Spring) for both the Radford and
Roanoke Campuses in Fall 2002 – Fall 2005. For example: On the Radford and Roanoke
Campuses for Fall 2002 Semester $1284.00 worth of skill packs was received. This continued
for Fall and Spring through Fall 2005 for a total of: $8988.00 Grant in Kind.

Research Week 1013 Research and Creative Scholarship attended conference and Served as a
Judge for Undergraduate Research Poster Presentations.
During Spring 2013- I worked with the Biology Department, Biggio Center, and IMG to move
the Nursing Pathophysiology course from face-to-face to an online course, ordered textbooks and
online materials, developed modules with supporting information including resources from the
textbook, watched all videos in the course, identified cut points for video lectures, developed

online quizzes and face-to-face exams, provided face-to-face proctored exams, provided office
hours, and provided face-to-face times and room for students to review materials prior to exams.
During Summer and Fall 2013 I assisted the Online Nursing Pathophysiology Course Faculty
(Dr. Davonya Person) with developing the fall 2013- spring 2014 online course including
working with IMG for to upload the course videos and supplemental information from spring
2013 and I uploaded the syllabus for fall 2013, served as a mentor and exam proctor for the
faculty throughout the fall 2013 and spring 2014 semester.

Dublin, Ireland. At this conference I was able to attend sessions related to nursing education,
nursing practice, and nursing research. I networked with nurses from Ireland, United Kingdom,
Australia, Asia, Canada, and many other countries.
June 14- 18, 2004 I attended a Nursing Grant Writing Institute at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing. Speakers included Elizabeth Tournquist and Dr.
Sandra Funk. I was selected to be a faculty participant in a grant written by K. Carter for 4
faculty participants to attend workshops for the purpose of enhancing faculty abilities to do grant
writing. The grant was provided by Radford University.
April 15, 2004. Attended Presentation by L. Kawar on topic of Breast Self Exam in Women in
the United States Who Were From Jordan and Palestine. Radford University School of Nursing.
