The main area of research is water pollution, especially the removal of heavy metals and

dyes from aqueous solution and industrial wastewater by adsorption process with the help

of non- conventional, low cost adsorbents and bio-nanocomposite materials.

I have also keen interest in Nanotechnology, the technology of 21st century.

Nanochemistry is the fast becoming one of the major areas of chemistry. Its appeal lies in

the long-dreamt of ability to investigate and manipulate matter at the level of individual

atom and molecules. During my stay in S. Korea I worked for the preparation of

nanoparticles, which have a variety of potential applications, from digital data storage to

single-electron electronics and nanoelectrical systems (NEMS).
