Award: Professor G. Ram Reddy Social Scientist Award (2017) was conferred by Professor G. Ram Reddy Memorial Trust at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad on 4th December, 2017. Professor G. Ram Reddy was a distinguished social scientist and a great institution builder. Professor G. Ram Reddy Social Scientist Award is given biannually to an Indian Scholar who has done significant academic work in the areas of public policy/governance/ local organisations/panchayati raj. Considering Dr. Sisodia’s substantial contribution in the area of panchayati raj and grassroots democracy, the award was bestowed upon him. The Award included a citation, a memento and cash award of Rs. 50,000/-. At this function, Professor G Ram Reddy Award Lecture was also delivered by him among the distinguished gathering.

There was a group of 19 delegates from 19 different countries. The programme was aimed to introduce the structure and functions of US federal system of government with emphasis on the division of authority and responsibility between federal, state and local governments; to observe how elections for federal, state and local offices are organized; and to see the successful models of cooperation among state and local governments, non-governmental organisations, community organisations and the business sector.
