TEACHING EXPERIENCE: Since joining Texas A&M University in 1978, formal teaching responsibilities have been primarily at the graduate level and focused in areas of Cell Biology and evolving technologies associated with analytical electron and optical microscopy. From 1978 to 1987 my academic appointment was in the Department of Biology in the College of Science with an additional appointment from 1982 to 1987, as Director of the Electron Microscopy Center (Microscopy and Imaging Center) From 1978-1987 course responsibilities included: BIOL 602 Transmission Electron Microscopy BIOL 628 Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Microanalysis BIOL 430 Biological Imaging BIOL 617 Cell Biology, Cell Signaling In 1987, I was appointed Associate Professor of Veterinary Anatomy and Director of the College of Veterinary Medicine Image Analysis Laboratory (IAL). Development of the IAL as a state-of-the-art optical microscopy laboratory with instrument and applications training in non-invasive cellular imaging has been a part of my teaching emphasis. Since 1987, I have also focused formal course offerings in Cell Biology (Cellular Signaling/Signal Transduction) and Optical Microscopy and Live Cell Imaging. Regular contributions are made to other team taught courses.
