Throughout the PhD period, I have attended clinical sessions and specialist endodontic clinics every week, engaged with complex endodontic cases of both a surgical and non-surgical nature and clinically worked on MTA cases. My clinical experiences in the assessment, treatment and follow-up of challenging, hospital based patients have greatly developed my insights and skills.

MTA AuditFurthermore, within these clinical sessions, I undertook an audit of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate use in the Newcastle Dental Hospital as a part of my PhD project, in addition to monitoring and following-up all MTA cases at the Dental Hospital for the period from October 2006 to October 2008.

These clinical sessions gave me helpful understanding on the range of challenges in respect to the clinical endodontic practice.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

Aside from Dentistry, I immensely enjoy general social activities. I am proudly one of the founders of a local community group in Newcastle. “Nineveh” society is a big group of families with similar interests that meet every weekend with variety of social activities. Members of the group are of wide range of ages varying from children to elderly. Sport-wise, I am interested in all kinds of sports especially swimming, football, volleyball and table tennis and I was a captain of a local volleyball team that plays friendly matches on regular intervals. This further developed my team-leading skills. Travelling for me is a delight. I enjoy both national and international journeys and I travel whenever time allows. Visiting and living in several countries gave me the opportunity to learn more about different cultures and how they can integrate together.
